Hotels near Wenceslas Square and the New Town, Prague

The New Town (Nové Město) wraps around the Old Town from Národní třída to the main railway station. Despite the name it dates from the 14th century, and it holds Wenceslas Square, Charles Square, the National Museum and the Dancing House. It has the widest choice of hotels in Prague, at every price level.

Below are the hotels we list in the New Town, grouped by the part of the district they are in.

Is the New Town a good area to stay in?

  • Good for: first-time visitors who want everything within walking distance, travellers arriving by train, and anyone who wants plenty of hotel choice and good transport.
  • Getting around: metro stations Muzeum, Můstek, Národní třída, Karlovo náměstí, I. P. Pavlova and Hlavní nádraží are all in the district, and the Old Town Square is 10–15 minutes on foot from Wenceslas Square.
  • Keep in mind: Wenceslas Square and the streets just off it are busy and noisy late at night, especially at weekends; ask for a courtyard room if you sleep lightly.
