Hotels in the Old Town, Prague

The Old Town (Staré Město) is Prague’s medieval core on the right bank of the Vltava, between Charles Bridge and the Powder Tower. Old Town Square, the Astronomical Clock, the Týn Church and the Jewish Quarter are all here, and many hotels occupy Gothic, Baroque or Art Nouveau buildings.

Below are the hotels we list in the Old Town, grouped by the part of the district they are in.

Is the Old Town a good area to stay in?

  • Good for: first-time visitors and short breaks, when you want to walk everywhere and step out straight into the historic centre.
  • Getting around: Staroměstská (line A), Můstek (lines A and B) and Náměstí Republiky (line B) metro stations are on the edges of the district; most of the centre itself is pedestrian streets. Charles Bridge leads to Malá Strana and Prague Castle.
  • Keep in mind: the streets around Old Town Square and Karlova are crowded by day and lively at night, prices are the highest in the city, cars can’t reach many hotels, and parking is limited and paid.
