Overview

NH Collection Prague Carlo IV is a five-star, 152-room hotel at Senovážné náměstí 13 in Prague 1, on the border of the Old Town and the New Town. It occupies a Neo-Renaissance palace built in the 1890s for the Czech Mortgage Bank, joined to a modern wing.

Location

Prague Main Railway Station (Hlavní nádraží), with its metro station on line C (red), is about 5 minutes on foot, and the Jindřišská and Hlavní nádraží (Bolzanova) stops are 2–3 minutes away. The State Opera is about 5 minutes on foot, Wenceslas Square and the Powder Tower about 8 minutes, and Old Town Square about 10–12 minutes. Václav Havel Airport is roughly 40 minutes by car.

The property

Rooms have air conditioning, and the suites are in the historic wing. The hotel has a 24-hour front desk and lifts. The 1890 Restaurant & Bar serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the former bank vault now houses The Vault Lounge. Carlo IV Wellness & Spa has a 20-metre heated pool, two whirlpools, a sauna, a steam room and a 24-hour gym, included for guests; body and facial treatments cost extra. A buffet breakfast is served from 6:30 to 10:30. Indoor parking has limited capacity, must be booked in advance and costs CZK 1,200 per day.

Good to know

  • Check-in is from 15:00 and check-out by 12:00.
  • The pool is open from 8:00 to 21:00.
  • Dogs and cats up to 25 kg are accepted for CZK 870 per pet per night, with a maximum of two per room; guide dogs stay free.
  • An electric-car charger is available, subject to availability.

Suits travellers who want a large hotel with a full spa, within walking distance of both Wenceslas Square and the main railway station.

The building itself was incredible, lovely friendly and super helpful hotel staff. Unbelievable breakfast perhaps up there with the best we’ve had at a hotel. We were upgraded to a deluxe room which was a great bonus.
