You know what struck me first about this place? The address alone tells you everything – 20 Národní puts you right in the thick of things without being stuck in the tourist chaos of Wenceslas Square. I mean, you’re literally on one of Prague’s main arteries, but somehow this apartment manages to feel like a peaceful retreat once you’re inside.

The whole “stylish apartment” thing isn’t just marketing speak either. Whoever designed this space actually gets what travelers want – there’s this perfect balance between old Prague character (think original hardwood floors and those impossibly high ceilings) and modern comfort that doesn’t feel sterile. The kitchen is honestly better equipped than my own back home, which came in handy since the Tesco on Národní is maybe a three-minute walk. Speaking of walks, you can stumble to the National Theatre in your pajamas if you wanted to – it’s that close. The Charles Bridge is about ten minutes on foot, but here’s the thing locals know: early morning is when you want to hit it, before the tour groups descend like locusts.

What really sold me on this spot was how it sits in relation to everything else. You’ve got the river right there, sure, but you’re also perfectly positioned between Old Town and New Town without being trapped in either tourist bubble. The 22 tram stops basically at your doorstep, so getting out to Vinohrady or up to the castle district is effortless. Parking was actually manageable too – there’s a garage about two blocks away on Spálená, which honestly surprised me given how central you are. The building itself has that slightly worn Prague elegance I love – the kind where the elevator creaks a bit but everything works perfectly. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, none of that awkward key-passing-through-intermediaries nonsense you sometimes get with apartment rentals.

The noise level deserves a mention because, let’s be real, Národní can get busy. But somehow the windows do their job well enough that you’re not lying awake listening to trams and late-night revelers. Well, maybe a little on Friday nights, but that’s Prague for you. What I really appreciated were the small details that show someone’s actually thought about this – proper blackout curtains (crucial for those brutal summer sunrises), decent water pressure, and WiFi that doesn’t make you want to throw your laptop out the window. The whole place just feels lived-in rather than staged, if that makes sense.

Honestly, with a 9 rating, I was expecting maybe some disappointment – you know how these things can be oversold. But this one delivers on its promise. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying in for breakfast just because the morning light hits the windows perfectly, then realize you’re a five-minute walk from some of the best coffee in the city anyway. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between authentic Prague living and tourist convenience, this apartment nails it completely.

    What could be improved: The 155cm ceiling height in the sleeping loft is challenging for most people. Hearing the trams all night (but that’s part of Prague!)

    Outstanding apartment and wonderful host. Two adults and two children (ages 8 and 7) and we bought our iwn breakfast supplies for the mornings. Perfect location and perfectly clean. All factories in the kitchen area, hairdryer and towels in bathroom, beds made on arrival and a great selection of books to read. Great communication from the host, Michal, throughout our stay and we were lucky enough to meet him too. I would recommend this apartment to all and will be staying here again in the future.
