Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Wishlist Prague Residences – Old Town Bilkova on Bílkova Street, you immediately sense you’ve found something special. This four-star property sits right in the thick of Prague’s Old Town — I mean, you’re literally steps from the Jewish Quarter and about a three-minute walk to the Astronomical Clock. The building itself has that classic Prague charm, but what struck me most was how quiet it felt despite being surrounded by all the action.

The Heart of Old Town

Honestly, the location here is pretty much unbeatable. You know how some hotels claim to be “centrally located” but you still end up walking twenty minutes to anything interesting? Not here. Charles Bridge is a leisurely five-minute stroll, and you can actually see the spires of Týn Church from some windows. What I really appreciated was having a grocery store just around the corner on Pařížská Street — super handy when you want to grab snacks or a bottle of wine without dealing with tourist prices. The couples who stay here absolutely love it (they rate the location 9.8), and I can see why.

Your Home Base

The apartment I stayed in felt more like a stylish Prague flat than a typical hotel room. The space was thoughtfully designed with modern touches that didn’t clash with the historic building’s character. The kitchen was actually functional — not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation — which meant I could make proper coffee in the morning and even cook a simple dinner with ingredients from the local market. The beds were comfortable, and the bathroom had this great rainfall shower that felt pretty luxurious after long days of sightseeing.

Practical Perks

Here’s something you don’t find everywhere in Prague’s Old Town — they actually have private parking available. If you’re driving in (which honestly I wouldn’t recommend for the city center, but some people do), this is a huge deal. The staff was genuinely helpful too, not just going through the motions. They gave me solid recommendations for restaurants that locals actually go to, not just the obvious tourist spots. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly, which matters when you’re trying to navigate the city or stay connected with home.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how it balances that authentic Prague experience with modern comfort. You’re staying in a real neighborhood where people actually live and work, but you’re not sacrificing convenience or quality. The 9.5 rating makes total sense when you experience it — it’s the kind of place where everything just works smoothly. You can walk to dinner, explore the castle district, hit the major sights, and still feel like you’re coming home to a peaceful retreat at the end of the day. For couples especially, there’s something romantic about having your own little Prague apartment in such a historic setting.

Be cautious when it comes to money — they might look for any opportunity to charge extra.

What could be improved: The apartment is excellent and the location is great, but the service I received was disappointing.

I got locked out after the key was left inside the door, making it impossible to open from the outside. The host arrived and mentioned this wasn’t the first time such an issue had happened. I waited for an hour — without success. I had to leave, and only after about 30 minutes I was told the issue was resolved and I could return. At the same time, they asked for a tip — without even offering an apology.

Later, I received a sarcastic message about leaving only 100 CZK, along with a vague claim that the locksmith cost €100–€120. It felt like an unfair attempt to pressure me into paying more.

Additionally, although the booking stated that late check-in costs €25, I was charged €30. I paid, but it’s unclear why a simpler solution isn’t available.

In conclusion: Great apartment, but the attitude was disappointing. It felt like they were trying to take advantage of the tourist at every opportunity.
