Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Prague, and the Vienna House Diplomat actually surprised me – in a good way. It’s sitting right on Evropská, which honestly doesn’t sound like much when you first hear it, but you’re basically a stone’s throw from Dejvice metro station. I mean, you can literally walk there in like three minutes, which is pretty clutch when you’re trying to get to Old Town without dealing with Prague’s… let’s call it “creative” taxi pricing.

The thing that got me about this place is how it feels sort of understated but still polished. You know what I mean? Like, the lobby isn’t trying to blow your mind with marble everywhere, but everything just works. Check-in was smooth – no weird surprises about city tax or deposits that some Prague hotels love to spring on you. The rooms are what I’d call “properly European” – not massive by American standards, but thoughtfully laid out so you’re not bumping into furniture every time you open your suitcase. And honestly, the beds are actually comfortable, which… well, let’s just say that’s not always a given at four-star spots in this city.

Here’s what really won me over though – the area around it is fantastic for actually living like a local for a few days. There’s this whole stretch of decent restaurants and cafés along Evropská that tourists never find because they’re all hunting around Wenceslas Square paying triple the price. Plus you’re close enough to Letná Park that you can do that morning jog thing if you’re into that (I’m not, but my travel companion was thrilled). The tram connections are solid too – you can hop on the 20 or 26 and be pretty much anywhere you want without the metro crowds. Parking’s available if you’re brave enough to drive in Prague, which… good luck with that. The staff seemed to know their stuff about getting around the city, and they didn’t give me that glazed look when I asked about less obvious neighborhoods to explore. Oh, and the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building – revolutionary concept, I know, but you’d be amazed how many places still struggle with this basic requirement.
