St. Hubert House Overview

Okay, so St. Hubert House is one of those places that completely surprised me – and honestly, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star hotel smack in the middle of Old Town. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that don’t try too hard.

First off, that address on Michalská – you’re literally steps from everything that matters in Prague. I mean, you can stumble out the front door and accidentally end up at the Astronomical Clock (though please don’t actually stumble, the cobblestones are unforgiving). What I love about this spot is that it’s tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the constant parade of tour groups that plague some of the hotels right on the main squares. The street itself has this quiet, almost residential feel once the day-trippers head back to their buses around 6 PM. You’ll hear church bells instead of traffic, which is pretty magical if you ask me.

The building itself has that understated Prague charm – no flashy lobby or marble everything, just solid old-world bones with modern touches where they actually matter. Check-in was refreshingly normal (no upselling, no complicated key card explanations), and the staff seemed to genuinely know the neighborhood. When I asked about late-night food options, the desk clerk didn’t just hand me a generic tourist map – he sketched out a little route to this tiny pub around the corner that I never would’ve found otherwise. The rooms are what you’d expect from a well-run 3-star: clean, comfortable beds, decent shower pressure, and windows that actually open (surprisingly rare these days). Sure, the decor isn’t going to win any design awards, but everything works, and there’s something refreshing about a place that focuses on the basics instead of Instagram-worthy amenities you’ll never use.

What really sold me on this place, though, is how it fits into the rhythm of the city. You’re close enough to walk to Wenceslas Square or cross the Charles Bridge without breaking a sweat, but far enough from the main tourist arteries that you can actually sleep at night. I stayed here during shoulder season and never felt like I was fighting crowds just to get to my hotel – there’s a huge difference between being in the center and being in the chaos, if that makes sense. The price point makes total sense too; you’re paying for location and reliability, not luxury, and sometimes that’s exactly what you want. It’s the kind of place I’d book again without hesitation, especially if I wanted to spend my money on great meals and experiences rather than thread counts and turndown service.

Reviews of St. Hubert House

  • One of the best, if not the best, stays we’ve ever had. – Marie from Australia – 26 June 2025 (10/10)

The apartment is just stunning, with plenty of natural light, beautiful parquetry and high ceilings. Perfectly equipped with all the necessities and much, much more. Excellent, central location literally only minutes walk to Old Town Square, Charles Bridge and other main attractions. Kamila, the host, is friendly and super hospitable. It’s a 10/10 from us ❤️

What could be improved: We loved every single thing.

  • Adresse chaudement recommandée – Elisabeth from France – 14 July 2025 (10/10)

  • Exceptional – Písková from Czech Republic – 17 June 2025 (10/10)
