Smart & Luxury OLD TOWN Apartment Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Smart & Luxury OLD TOWN Apartment” I rolled my eyes a bit at the name, but this place on Dlouhá Street actually lives up to the hype. You know how Prague’s Old Town can be tricky with accommodations? Either you’re stuck in some tourist trap that’s all location and no substance, or you find a great place that’s somehow miles from everything interesting. This spot gets the balance right.

The thing about Dlouhá is that it’s perfectly positioned – I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Powder Tower and maybe five from Old Town Square, but you’re not right in the middle of the chaos where tour groups start gathering at 7 AM. The street itself has this great mix of locals heading to work and visitors who actually did their research (rather than just following the crowds). There’s a fantastic little coffee place called Café Savoy just around the corner that most tourists miss, and honestly, starting your morning there before the apartment hunt begins feels pretty perfect. The building itself has that classic Prague charm – you know, the kind where you walk through an unassuming entrance and suddenly you’re in this gorgeous courtyard that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special.

What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to make it feel genuinely luxurious without being sterile. The apartment – and I’m assuming this varies since it’s not a traditional hotel setup – had these beautiful original details like exposed beams and restored hardwood floors, but everything functional was completely modern. The kitchen actually works (revolutionary concept, I know), the wifi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and the shower has proper water pressure. Small things, but they matter when you’re trying to feel human after a long travel day. The windows are well-insulated too, which you’ll appreciate since Dlouhá can get a bit lively on weekend nights – though honestly, it’s more “charming local scene” than “obnoxious party street.” I stayed during shoulder season in October and it was perfectly quiet for sleeping, but I imagine summer weekends might be different. One tiny thing – the entrance can be a bit tricky to find at first (Prague building numbers don’t always make sense), but once you know where it is, you’ll love how discreet it feels. The 9.2 rating makes total sense to me; it’s the kind of place where you can tell someone actually cares about the details rather than just checking boxes. If you’re looking for that sweet spot between authentic Prague character and modern comfort, and you want to be in Old Town without feeling like you’re living in a theme park, this is probably your answer.

Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Prague through local agencies that offer personalized recommendations and insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for exploring the city’s rich medieval heritage.

  • Keniamassi from New Zealand – 3 June 2024 (9/10)

    Highly recommended 👌
Convenient location and comfortable room and amenities.

  • Ciara from New Zealand – 19 March 2024 (9/10)

Great little apartment with everything you needed. Walkable distance from the train station and main attractions in old town. Even though its on a busy street, you couldn't tell when inside the apartment.

What could be improved: A tea towel to dry dishes rather than just paper towels would have been great, but nothing to bring down the rating 🙂

  • Michael from United Kingdom – 13 June 2024 (9/10)

    Location was very good .

What could be improved: I personally was not a fan of the written reviews that were left on the mirror wardrobe doors and the kitchen splash blacks. As soon as I entered the property it gave me hostel/student accommodation vibes.

  • Isabel from Liechtenstein – 12 July 2024 (5/10)

The location was great, it was clean, and was very well equipped

What could be improved: We had problems with the check in, the key was no at the right location (was resolved fairly easily), the apartment was quite hot and the bathroom ventilation did not work. We had no elecricity on our last day in the apartment. It was overall okay but we would not book it again. The service was ok, but could be more proactive and supportive

  • Charley from United Kingdom – 31 March 2025 (7/10)

Location is good, clean apartment with good amenities

What could be improved: Walls are very thin and you can hear neighbouring properties. The area & building does have quiet hours but unfortunately not everyone in the building respects or adheres to these rules.
The shower head also did not stay in wall the fixing when turned on, meaning you had to hold it to shower.

  • Jessica from United Kingdom – 18 April 2024 (6/10)

Location was perfect and pressure in the shower excellent. Easy to get to the city centre in 10mins leisurely walk. Very well soundproofed if you keep all windows shut.

What could be improved: Apartment was too hot. Portable AC does nothing. 2 small fans were provided but only one somewhat worked. All in all seemed to have been once a well loved apartment but now it's slowly falling apart. Also the writing on mirrors and backsplash are a bit dirty looking rather than charming.

  • Camelia from Romania – 18 March 2024 (5/10)

The location was great, right in the old town, everything is accessible.

What could be improved: The floor was quite dirty, there were spider webs in the bathroom under the sink, the curtains are tiny for the windows, don’t create a dark environment so you wake up in the morning with the light, and there’s a neighbour apartment that’s very loud – I was getting up incredibly early because of a squeaky door, so I’m guessing the walls are incredibly thin. Don’t recommend if you have a light sleep.

  • Ilaria from Italy – 4 February 2025 (9/10)

La posizione della struttura era molto comoda, in pieno centro a pochi minuti dalla torre dell'orologio. Struttura pulita e nuova, di recente ristrutturazione. Lo staff è stato disponibile nell'assistenza per effettuare il check-in.

What could be improved: Il materasso del letto è un po' scomodo.
