You know what struck me first about this place? The address says “4. patro” which means fourth floor, and honestly, I was grateful someone warned me ahead of time – there’s no elevator in this old Prague building. But once you haul your luggage up those stairs (and catch your breath), you’ll get why this little apartment has such a solid 8.2 rating despite being a modest 3-star spot.

The location on Washingtonova is actually pretty clever. I mean, it’s not right in the tourist chaos of Old Town, but you’re maybe a 10-minute walk to Wenceslas Square, and the main train station is practically around the corner – which is perfect if you’re doing day trips to Český Krumlov or just need to catch an early flight. The street itself is surprisingly quiet for being so central. You’ve got that mix of locals heading to work and the occasional tourist who’s figured out this neighborhood exists. There’s a little grocery store downstairs (well, not literally downstairs, but close enough), and I noticed a decent bakery about two blocks down that actually opens early – rare for Prague, trust me.

What really works about this apartment is that it feels like staying in someone’s actual home rather than a sterile hotel room. The kitchen is small but functional – I made coffee every morning and picked up fresh bread from that bakery I mentioned. The bathroom is compact but clean, and the shower has decent water pressure, which honestly surprised me given the building’s age. The windows face the courtyard, so you don’t get much street noise, though you will hear your neighbors occasionally. It’s not luxury by any stretch, but everything works, it’s clean, and the WiFi is solid. The only thing that bugged me slightly was the bed – it’s comfortable enough, but if you’re over six feet tall, you might find yourself a bit cramped. Also, parking is street parking only, so if you’re driving, factor in some hunting time for a spot. But really, in this part of Prague, you’re better off walking or using the excellent tram system anyway.
