What really impressed me was the attention to practical details – the kitchens are actually functional, not just decorative, and the WiFi doesn’t mysteriously die every time more than two people connect. The building itself has character without being creaky, if that makes sense.

Here’s what you should know though – the location is brilliant if you understand Prague’s layout. You’re on the Petřín Hill side of things, which means yes, there are some gentle slopes involved (nothing dramatic, but wear comfortable shoes), and honestly, that’s a blessing because you get these unexpected glimpses of the castle and city as you wander around. The nearest tram stop is maybe three minutes away, and from there you can get pretty much anywhere in the city center within fifteen minutes. I actually preferred staying here over the touristy areas because you get to see how Prague really works – there’s this fantastic little bakery around the corner where the staff doesn’t speak English but the pastries are incredible, and the whole neighborhood has this lived-in feeling that the Old Town sometimes lacks. The 8.5 rating feels about right – it’s not trying to be a luxury hotel, but everything works well, the staff knows what they’re doing, and you wake up feeling like you’re experiencing Prague rather than just visiting it.

  Great room size and location. We were close to all the landmarks and the neighborhood was safe at night. Prague is amazing… straight out of a Hollywood movie, but real.
  
  What could be improved: The curtains are not thick enough so the sun will wake you up early, but otherwise this is a lovely lonely place. I would go back any time.

  What could be improved: With my room being on the top floor, I'd asked reception to pull down the blinders to avoid being woken up as the sun was rising.

  I liked that it was in a good area. Close to bus and tourist attractions. The bather room clean and housekeep came daily if you wanted them to.

  Fabulous location for walking to many interesting parts of the city plus the Hop in bus stop was very close. I loved the historic architecture of the building. Having the kitchen and supplies started the day off nicely with our home breakfast. We arrived early and were fortunate to be given early access to our room. The secure mailbox provided easy, early checkout. The beds, linens and towels were all excellent quality and comfortable.
  
  What could be improved: Both men in the group found the noise of the trams disturbing at night. The women acclimated easily to the sound.
