Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first walked up to Prague Season Three Stars on Legerova Street, I wasn’t expecting much – I mean, it’s a three-star place and the name sounds like it’s trying way too hard. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come from places that don’t feel the need to oversell themselves.
The location is actually pretty smart if you know Prague at all. Legerova runs right through New Town, which means you’re close enough to walk to Wenceslas Square (maybe 8-10 minutes if you don’t get distracted by the tram museum on the way), but far enough from the tourist chaos that you can actually sleep at night. The street itself has this lived-in feel – there’s a great little bakery two blocks down that opens ridiculously early, and honestly, their koláče beats anything you’ll find near the castle. I noticed a lot of locals grabbing coffee there, which is always a good sign.
What struck me about the hotel was how… practical it felt, in the best possible way. The lobby smells faintly of coffee and something floral – not that artificial hotel air freshener smell, but like someone actually cares about the space. Check-in was surprisingly smooth, and the woman at the desk knew exactly which tram lines would get me where I needed to go (she even drew a little map on the back of a business card). The rooms aren’t going to win any design awards, but they’re clean and quiet – well, mostly quiet. You’ll hear the occasional tram rumble by, but it’s more comforting than annoying, sort of like urban white noise. The beds are firm in that European way that either works for you or doesn’t, and the shower pressure was better than I expected from a three-star place.
I spent a decent chunk of time in the small breakfast room, which gets morning light from these tall windows that face east. Nothing fancy – standard European hotel breakfast with good bread, decent coffee, and eggs that aren’t overcooked. But there’s something nice about starting your day somewhere that feels unrushed. The other guests were a mix of business travelers and couples doing the Prague thing, and everyone seemed pretty content. That 8.6 rating makes sense when you experience it – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but it does what it promises really well. If you’re looking for a base to explore Prague without paying Old Town prices, and you appreciate places that focus on getting the basics right rather than flashy amenities, this spot works. Just don’t expect a concierge or fancy toiletries – but honestly, do you really need that stuff when you’re spending most of your time wandering around one of Europe’s most beautiful cities?
Visitors often choose Prague apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent Bohemian capital.
