Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about OREA Hotel Pyramida Praha? It’s actually this massive pyramid-shaped building that you can spot from across the city – I mean, it sounds gimmicky when you first hear about it, but honestly, it works. The place sits up in the Břevnov district, which is this quiet residential area that most tourists completely miss, and that’s sort of the point. You’re maybe twenty minutes from Old Town Square by tram (the 22 line stops right outside), but you’re staying in a neighborhood where actual Czechs live and work.
The hotel itself feels like what would happen if someone took a 1980s socialist-era building and gave it a really thoughtful renovation. The lobby has this soaring ceiling that follows the pyramid shape, and there’s something almost cathedral-like about walking in – though the effect is more “interesting architectural experiment” than “tacky Vegas knockoff.” My room was on the seventh floor facing south, and honestly, the view over Prague’s red rooftops toward the castle was worth the stay alone. The rooms are bigger than what you’ll find in the historic center, with proper desks and bathrooms that don’t require you to turn sideways to use the shower. They’ve kept some of the original design elements – these angular windows that follow the building’s shape – but updated everything else with clean lines and decent lighting.
What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually know the neighborhood. When I asked about dinner recommendations, they didn’t just hand me a tourist map – they sent me to this little hospoda called U Fleku’s cousin (okay, not literally, but same family-run vibe) about three blocks away where I ended up having the best svíčková of my trip. The breakfast situation is solid too – proper Czech pastries alongside the usual hotel spread, and they make a decent coffee, which honestly isn’t a given in Prague hotels. Parking was surprisingly painless, which matters if you’re doing day trips outside the city. The garage entrance is a bit tricky to find the first time (it’s around the back, not where you’d logically expect it), but there’s actual space, unlike those cramped spots in Malá Strana where you’re playing automotive Tetris. The whole area gets quiet after about 9 PM, so if you’re someone who needs actual sleep rather than the constant hum of tourist foot traffic, this location delivers. Plus, there’s something satisfying about staying somewhere with a 9.1 rating that doesn’t feel like it’s trying too hard to impress you – it just does its job really well.
Hotels in Prague offer guests the perfect blend of Gothic grandeur and modern comfort, with many featuring traditional Czech beer concierge services and medieval architecture to enhance the authentic Central European cultural experience.

The staff took care of everything and made us feel good from the moment we arrived until we left. They took care of the baby and made her feel very good. The dining room was basic, there was not much choice, the pool was good but very cold. The room was very clean and very spacious. This hotel is very close to the center of 10 minutes by taxi. Surely if we go back to Prague it will be this hotel again
What could be improved: The pool was cold and the food in the dining room was poorPeter from United Kingdom – 27 March 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: alles war gutStylianos from Greece – 26 March 2025 (9/10)
Everything. Especially the breakfast.
What could be improved: I don't think there was something that we didn't like. We stayed only one night.Vreemdbed from Netherlands – 26 March 2025 (9/10)
Great and large room. Luxury hotel bed linen. Best breakfast we had in years. Nice inside pool. Great value for money. No parking problems, with tram in no time to all the historic sites.
What could be improved: The hotel is in transition. A huge concrete and trespa monster that looks like Scampia ('le Vele', Gomorra) in Napoli. But inside they are renovating it luxuriously and it looks great now. By summer the works will probably be done. View on a building site and highway/tunnel.
