I mean, when they say 250 square meters, they actually mean it – and honestly, walking into this place on Ve Smečkách feels a bit like accidentally stumbling into someone’s millionaire uncle’s apartment. The sauna alone is bigger than most hotel rooms I’ve stayed in, and that terrace… look, I’ve seen plenty of Prague terraces that are basically fire escapes with a chair, but this one actually makes you want to spend your morning coffee outside watching the city wake up.

The location is what really sold me though – Ve Smečkách is one of those streets that tourists walk past without realizing they’re basically in the heart of everything. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Wenceslas Square (which, let’s be honest, you’ll end up at whether you plan to or not), but the street itself stays surprisingly quiet at night. I was worried about noise since it’s so central, but the building has those thick old walls that seem to swallow sound. The five bedrooms are spread out nicely too – not just carved up from one big space like some places do. Each one actually feels intentional, and the three bathrooms means you’re not doing that awkward hotel shuffle in the morning if you’re traveling with a group.

What I didn’t expect was how much the little details would matter. The kitchen is properly stocked (not just a mini-fridge and a prayer), there’s actual counter space, and someone clearly thought about what people need when they’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two. The whole place has this lived-in elegance – you know, like it’s designed for actual humans, not just Instagram photos. And that 9.4 rating? Yeah, I get it now. It’s not trying to be the flashiest place in Prague, but everything just… works. Check-in was smooth, the building entrance feels secure without being intimidating, and you’re close enough to everything that matters – Národní třída for trams, the river for those sunset walks everyone talks about, and plenty of good restaurants that aren’t just tourist traps. Honestly, if you’re planning to stay more than a couple days and want space to actually relax instead of just crash, this is the kind of place that makes you remember why you love traveling in the first place.

  We were met by the fabulous Honza & Jirka very late at night as our plane arrived so late and they couldn't have been nicer or more helpful! They showed us everything we needed to know about the apartment and sent us links to restaurants, attractions, bars and even supermarkets, so we knew exactly where we needed to go for everything. The apartment is huge, has absolutely everything you need and the beds are very comfortable. We couldn't be happier with our stay and with the level of service we received from Honza & Jirka. They even came on our departure day to carry our cases down the stairs. We will definitely be returning and recommending to our friends and family who are visiting Prague.

  What could be improved: There's a lot of stairs and no lift but it wasn't a problem at all for us. Good exercise! And the boys were so helpful getting us in and out.

  The penthouse is huge. Has a lot of rooms and bathrooms, it's very comfortable. The sauna in the house is spectacular, which adds something special in this apartment. I would recommend it to any large group that would like to go to Prague
