Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Igor and David Apartments? The location is absolutely killer – and I mean that in the best way possible. Havelska Street puts you smack in the middle of Old Town, but it’s one of those quieter cobblestone streets that tourists kind of walk past without really noticing. Which is honestly perfect because you get all the medieval charm without the constant stream of tour groups right outside your window. I’m talking maybe a two-minute walk to the Astronomical Clock, but when you’re back at the apartment in the evening, it actually feels peaceful.

The apartments themselves have this really nice balance going on – they’ve clearly been renovated with modern travelers in mind, but they didn’t go overboard trying to make everything look like a generic hotel chain. The spaces feel authentically Prague, if that makes sense. High ceilings, original hardwood floors that creak just enough to remind you you’re in a 14th-century building, but then you’ve got proper Wi-Fi, updated bathrooms, and kitchenettes that actually work. I stayed there during shoulder season last fall, and honestly, having a place to make coffee in the morning and store some groceries made such a difference – especially when you’re dealing with Prague’s somewhat unpredictable restaurant hours.

What really sets this place apart though is how Igor and David (yeah, they’re actual people, not just names on a sign) seem to know exactly what travelers need without being pushy about it. Check-in was smooth, they had genuine recommendations for restaurants that weren’t just the obvious tourist traps, and when I mentioned I was trying to catch an early train to Vienna, they sorted out a reliable taxi contact without me even asking. The kind of small touches that you don’t really think about until you’re staying somewhere that doesn’t do them. I mean, the 8.8 rating makes total sense when you’re actually there – it’s not flashy enough to be a perfect 10, but everything just… works. The neighborhood comes alive around 7 AM with locals heading to work, so if you’re a light sleeper, just know that Prague mornings have their own rhythm. But honestly? That’s part of what makes staying here feel less like a hotel experience and more like you’re actually living in the city for a few days. Plus, you’re literally around the corner from some of the best traditional Czech pubs that locals actually frequent, which is getting harder and harder to find in this part of Prague.

Reviews

  • Kati from Estonia – 23 April 2024 (9/10)

The taxi driver who picked us up from airport (ordered through Igor&David Apartments) showed us the pleace where we could get the keys!

What could be improved: Everyhting was super. We liked everything. The apartment, location and communication with the host!

  • Bjørn from Norway – 23 February 2025 (9/10)

Spacious apartment. It was clean and functional. Very central location, yet quiet in the evenings. Very friendly staff. We took the transport from the airport, and the driver accompanied us all the way to the office where we picked up the key. Despite the cold weather outside, the apartment was well-heated and comfortable. It was also easy to access, with only one flight of stairs.

What could be improved: For improvements, the bedrooms could have drywall instead of glass walls. The curtains work, so it’s not a major issue. Additionally, the driver asked for a bit more payment than what was originally agreed upon.

  • Veronica from Australia – 15 January 2025 (8/10)

Location was fantastic. Lots of restaurants and shop near by. Perfect for a family.

What could be improved: A little hard to find, it is above a restaurant. If I had the name of it before we got there would have been helpful.

  • Nyree from Australia – 26 December 2024 (8/10)

Amazing location, easy to communicate with reception.
    Two bathrooms was good too

What could be improved: Needs a few more kitchen things, such as tongs, enough wine glasses for 6, tea towels for drying dishes etc.

  • Jessica from Australia – 16 December 2024 (9/10)

Amazingly close to the markets but so quite inside and so spacious

  • Barbara from Ireland – 6 December 2024 (9/10)

Excellent location. Midway between Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square. It is a climb up to the apartment but worth it.Lots of space inside. Lovely and warm, perfect for a December visit. Very clean. Very secure. The staff were excellent and so friendly. Lovely places to eat or have a drink nearby including the Corto which is part of the apartment building. The Havelska Market is directly outside the front door.

What could be improved: The telly didn't work but that didn't matter too much as we didn't spend a lot of time in the apartment. There is a steep winding staircase up to the apartment so not easy to climb if you have mobility problems but is doable. No wardrobe or storage space in the second bedroom but has room for some

  • Anilec22 from United Kingdom – 3 December 2024 (9/10)

Fantastic Central location in the old town
Secure apartment very clean on arrival
Easy collection of keys and shown to the apartment
    Very spacious apartment

What could be improved: Could have been more kitchen appliances like a tea towel, a ladel, oven tray and more cereal bowls (we only had x3 cereal bowls for 5 people). Would have well appreciated if host had left some tea/coffee and milk for our arrival after travelling.

These are only points for feedback

  • Marivic from United Kingdom – 18 November 2024 (9/10)

The place is in the heart of Old Town, well convenient and accessible to shops.
    Very clean and tidy.
The old-town vibes continued as entering the apartment.

What could be improved: At night there are noises outside because it is close to the street shops and restaurants.

  • Marion from United Kingdom – 4 November 2024 (9/10)

Lovely warm apartment, plenty space, very clean, and reception was close by and staff were very friendly & helpful.
    Perfect location.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Gill from United Kingdom – 3 November 2024 (9/10)

The staff were great. Before we arrived their communication was very good.

What could be improved: Wouldn't say this is a 'didn't like? Just useful information.

When you arrive to check in, there's no need to take all of your luggage up the stairs to reception if there's a group because the actual apartment is a couple of doors to the left. You also need to go up some stairs to reach the apartment.
