Grandium Hotel Prague Overview
You know what struck me first about the Grandium Hotel Prague? It’s that satisfying feeling when a place actually lives up to its billing as a five-star property. I mean, you walk into that lobby on Politických vězňů street and there’s this immediate sense that someone really thought about every detail – but not in that stuffy, intimidating way some luxury hotels pull off.
The location is honestly pretty brilliant, though you might not realize it at first glance. You’re right in Nové Město, which sounds fancy but really just means New Town (well, “new” as in 14th century). What’s great is you’re walking distance to Wenceslas Square – maybe seven minutes if you’re not dodging trams – but far enough down this quieter street that you don’t get the tourist chaos right outside your window. I actually appreciated that after spending days wandering around the more crowded parts of Prague Castle and Old Town. The hotel sits in this sweet spot where you can slip out for an early morning coffee run to one of those tiny local cafés on Národní street before the crowds wake up, or grab a late dinner without feeling like you’re trapped in the tourist bubble.
What really won me over was how the staff seemed to actually know Prague, not just the hotel script. The concierge – I think her name was Petra – didn’t just hand me a generic map when I asked about good Czech beer that wasn’t Pilsner Urquell (nothing against it, but you know). She walked me through this whole explanation about microbreweries in Vinohrady and even drew little notes on my map about which U Fleku tours to avoid during peak times. The rooms themselves feel properly luxurious without being overdone – thick curtains that actually block out the morning light, which is clutch if you’re dealing with jet lag, and bathrooms with those rainfall showers that don’t disappoint like they sometimes do. I’ll be honest, the air conditioning took a minute to figure out (European hotel room controls are their own mystery), but once I got it sorted, the room stayed perfectly comfortable even during that weird heat wave Prague had in June. The 8.6 rating makes sense to me – it’s genuinely excellent without being absolutely flawless. Like, the elevator is a bit slow when everyone’s heading down for breakfast, and if you’re on the street side, you’ll hear some early morning delivery trucks. But honestly? That’s Prague being Prague, and there’s something kind of charming about waking up to the sounds of a real city going about its business.

Location was good. Staff was nice, accommodating, and helpful. Felt safe and taken care of.
What could be improved: Spa service & massage: Checking in, payment and location were good. Massage itself was uncomfortable and painful and not fixed well when asked to. Not really loving that I went.Duncan from United Kingdom – 28 March 2025 (9/10)
Nice hotel, very good location, the breakfast was really good with lots of choice. The rooms were a good size, nice big bathroom with a very powerful shower. The beds were a little hard for my taste. I would definitely stay here again.
