Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Charles Square studio apartment Parking” in the listing, I wasn’t expecting much. The name sounds pretty utilitarian, right? But here’s the thing about Prague: sometimes the most straightforward places end up being exactly what you need. This little studio on Příčná 4 is tucked into Nové Město (New Town, though it’s actually from the 14th century – Prague’s funny like that), and you know what really sold me? The parking situation is actually sorted out, which if you’ve ever tried to navigate Prague’s medieval street maze with a rental car, you’ll understand is basically a small miracle.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Prague rather than just visiting it. Charles Square – or Karlovo náměstí as the locals call it – is this massive green space that most tourists completely miss because they’re all crowding around Old Town Square. I mean, I get it, the Astronomical Clock is cool and all, but Charles Square is where you’ll find actual Prague residents walking their dogs and old men playing chess on benches. The studio puts you right in the heart of this neighborhood where there are proper Czech pubs (not the touristy ones with inflated prices), little grocery stores, and that authentic Prague atmosphere everyone’s always chasing. Walking to the city center takes maybe fifteen minutes, but honestly, you might find yourself spending more time just wandering around this area. There’s something about those tree-lined streets and Art Nouveau buildings that just hits different in the early morning when the light’s all golden and soft.

The studio itself is pretty much what you’d expect from a solid 3-star setup – nothing fancy, but everything works. I appreciate places that don’t try to be something they’re not, and this is definitely one of those. The space is compact but thoughtfully laid out (you sort of have to be creative with space in these old Prague buildings), and honestly, after spending your days exploring the city, you mainly just need a clean, quiet place to crash. The neighborhood gets pretty peaceful at night – you’re far enough from the party districts that you won’t have drunk backpackers stumbling around at 3 AM, but close enough to everything that you never feel isolated. Plus, having that parking spot means you can actually explore outside Prague too. Day trips to Český Krumlov or even just driving through the Bohemian countryside become totally doable when you’re not stressing about where to leave your car. Sometimes the practical stuff matters more than the Instagram-worthy amenities, and this place gets that balance right.

Reviews

  • Very good – Helen from United Kingdom – 6 June 2025 (8/10)

What could be improved: The key to the front door was a nightmare to use, other people had codes for the front door it would have been much easier to use that
The website to unlock the apartment door was fine until our service dipped out and we couldn’t load it, luckily we had remembered the code after a few guesses but the thing to enter that was temperamental at best so at times we couldn’t get in for a while – shame because overall the apartment was great
