First Impressions

Walking up to Bellevue Apartment on Smetanovo nábřeží, you immediately understand why this place gets such incredible ratings. I mean, the address alone tells you everything — you’re literally on the riverfront promenade with the Vltava flowing right in front of you. This four-star property sits in one of those classic Prague buildings that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard, but honestly, the location is what really knocked me out first.

The Heart of Prague

You know what’s amazing about staying here? You’re actually in the real center of Prague, not some tourist-trap version of it. The National Theatre is practically next door — I could hear the evening performances from my window on quiet nights. Charles Bridge is maybe a three-minute walk, and I’m talking about reaching it before the tour groups arrive in the morning. The apartment overlooks the river, so you get those incredible castle views that people pay serious money for at the big hotels, but with way more character.

The Space Itself

The room setup surprised me in the best way. It’s not huge, but everything’s been thought through really well — the kitchen has proper appliances (not those tiny hotel versions), and there’s enough space to actually spread out your stuff. The windows are these gorgeous tall ones that let in tons of light during the day, and honestly, I spent way too much time just sitting there watching the boats go by. The bathroom’s modern without being sterile, which I appreciated after staying in some overly minimalist places around Europe.

Why the Location Works So Well

Here’s something I didn’t expect — even though you’re right in the center, it’s actually pretty quiet at night. The promenade gets busy during the day, sure, but once evening hits, it becomes this lovely peaceful walk along the water. There’s a tram stop literally around the corner if you want to explore other neighborhoods, but honestly, I found myself walking everywhere because the old town is so close. The little streets behind the building have some fantastic local spots that aren’t in the guidebooks yet.

Why Guests Love It

I can see why couples rate this place so highly — there’s something genuinely romantic about having coffee in the morning while looking out at Prague Castle across the river. The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to get a real feel for the city. Parking can be tricky in this area (it’s central Prague, after all), but there are options nearby if you’re driving. The value here is incredible when you consider what you’d pay for a similar view and location at one of the big chain hotels — plus you get that authentic Prague apartment experience that makes the trip feel special.

  I don't think you could stay at a better place in Prague! This VIEW! It's incredible. Very easy to work with the host. The apartment has everything you need. The location is great. We loved our time here. An earlier review mentioned issues with the AC. We were there in a heatwave and there were no issues keeping it cool.

  I could not fault this apartment or Host in any way. Everything you needed was there & more. Spotlessly clean. Complete privacy between bedrooms due to the layout of the apartment. Wonderful little balcony to sit out on & the view is simply spectacular.
  Our Host arranged an airport pick-up, met us on arrival at the apartment, gave us advice on where to shop & where we could get a clean, safe massage & sauna for a girls only night.
