Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Charles Bridge Premium Residence feels like stepping into one of Prague’s best-kept secrets. The building sits right on Karlova Street — you know, that winding cobblestone path that leads directly to the famous bridge — and honestly, the location alone makes this four-star property worth considering. I mean, you’re literally in the thick of Old Town’s medieval charm, with Gothic spires and baroque facades surrounding you at every turn. The entrance has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream “tourist hotel,” which I actually appreciated.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s the thing about staying on Karlova — you’re positioned perfectly between Prague Castle and Old Town Square, so everything feels walkable without being overwhelming. Charles Bridge is maybe a two-minute stroll, and you can reach Wenceslas Square in about ten minutes on foot. What I loved most was how couples seem to gravitate toward this area (they rate the location incredibly high), and I get why. There’s something romantic about wandering these narrow streets in the evening when the day-trippers have headed back to their hotels. The neighborhood gets quieter after sunset, but you’re still close enough to decent restaurants and that famous astronomical clock.

The Accommodations

The rooms strike a nice balance between modern comfort and respecting the building’s historic character. You’ll find contemporary furnishings without losing that Old World Prague atmosphere — think clean lines mixed with traditional touches that actually work together. The windows in many rooms offer glimpses of the surrounding medieval architecture, and some even catch partial views of the castle district. Space-wise, they’re well-designed for the area; European city centers aren’t known for sprawling rooms, but everything feels thoughtfully arranged rather than cramped.

Breakfast & Amenities

The continental breakfast setup works well for most travelers — fresh pastries, quality coffee, and the usual European spread of meats, cheeses, and fruits. It’s not elaborate, but it gets you fueled up for a day of exploring without feeling rushed. The staff genuinely seems to know the area well, which comes in handy when you’re trying to figure out the best times to visit major attractions or looking for restaurant recommendations that locals actually frequent. They understand that being in such a central location means guests often have questions about navigating the tourist crowds.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets this place apart is how it manages to put you right in Prague’s historic heart without feeling like you’re staying in a tourist trap. The combination of that prime Karlova Street address and the refined atmosphere creates something special — you can step outside and be at Charles Bridge before your morning coffee kicks in, yet retreat to a peaceful, well-appointed space when the Old Town crowds become too much. For couples especially, there’s something magical about having Prague’s most romantic spots literally at your doorstep, while still enjoying the comfort and service of an upscale property.

Lovely apartment in the heart of Prague right near the Charles Bridge - truly sensational spot. It's a big property with plenty of room and very comfortable. Prague is a sleepy city that is very quiet in the early hours of the morning - perfect for a quiet walk over the Charles Bridge at sunrise, or an opportunity to visit the Astronomical Clock before anyone else does.

What could be improved: Only a couple of minor gripes. The first being key collection. While I can appreciate check in times are in the afternoon for properties all around the world, this was the first place I'd ever been to that charged to store luggage - and charged per piece! We arrived a few hours early and check-in wasn't yet possible, that's fine, but to be charged 25 euro just to store luggage at the hotel around the corner was basically robbery. That hotel then wanted to charge an additional 2 euro for me to use the bathroom since I wasn't a guest!

In addition, the apartment is very good and they provide laundry facilities which is awesome, but they do not provide laundry powder - which means you then have to go buy laundry powder which comes by the kilo so we ended up carrying a kilo of laundry powder throughout the rest of our trip over europe. Come on guys, bump up the price by a euro or two and just provide it for your guests.
