You know what caught me off guard about Apartments At The Blue Duckling? The name makes it sound almost whimsical, but this place is seriously well-run. I mean, we’re talking about prime real estate here – 16 Michalská puts you right in the thick of Prague’s Old Town, where you can practically roll out of bed and stumble into some of the city’s best medieval architecture.

The apartments themselves are spread across floors 2-4, which honestly works in your favor because you’re high enough to avoid most of the street noise (and trust me, Michalská can get lively, especially on weekend nights when people are bar-hopping). Each unit feels more like borrowing a friend’s well-appointed city apartment than staying in typical tourist accommodation. The kitchens are actually functional – not those sad hotel kitchenettes with a mini-fridge and a prayer. I’m talking proper counter space, decent cookware, the works. Which is perfect because there’s a little grocery store just around the corner on Melantrichova, and you’ll probably want to grab some Czech bread and local cheese at least once during your stay.

What really sets this place apart is how it handles that tricky balance between being central and being livable. You’re a three-minute walk from the Astronomical Clock (though honestly, go see it early morning or late evening to avoid the tour group circus), but you’re also positioned where locals actually live and work. There’s this tiny café on the ground level of a neighboring building where the barista remembers your order by day three – that kind of neighborhood feel that most hotels can’t touch. The 9.1 rating isn’t just numbers either; you can feel it in details like how the WiFi actually works throughout the apartments, how check-in is smooth even when you arrive jet-lagged and confused, and how the beds are firm enough that you don’t wake up feeling like you wrestled with a marshmallow all night. The only minor thing I’d mention is that Prague’s cobblestones can be murder on wheeled luggage, so pack light or be prepared for a bit of a workout getting your bags to the entrance. But once you’re settled in, you’ll understand why this spot consistently books up – it’s that rare find where the location, comfort, and value actually align without any major compromises.

  Excellent location … couldn’t really get more central. A couple of mins from Mustek metro. Great apartment, modern in an old building, great facilities, well equipped, great host met on arrival and waited as we were late as delayed a little. Everything was perfect really.

  The apartment was so close to the old town square, yet it was fairly quiet despite all the noises outside. It was spacious and clean. The shower in the bathroom has very water pressure.
  There is a nice terrace attached to our room, which would be perfect if we visit in summer.

  The appartment was perfect for our needs , it was literally 2 min from old town square , and perfect for all self catering needs , the bathroom was especially amazing , it even had underfloor heating , ours also had a little courtyard area if you want to have some outside eating (weather permitting) , we absolutely loved it .
  
  What could be improved: nothing , tho we had to go searching the shops for a tea towel , if anyone else finds themselves in the same predicament we got one at a pepco in one of the near-by shopping centres about 5 min away .

  We came here on honeymoon and this apartment is gorgeous! In a perfect location, really comfortable and beautifully decorated. The kitchenette was well stocked with everything needed to cater for ourselves but there were plenty of fantastic restaurants around as well. The staff here are friendly and helpful, the views are lovely. Would definitely recommend.

  The room was newly renovated and very clean, very big. We're satisfied.

  Perfect location, very near to most of the touristic places.
  
  What could be improved: Finding the property was a bit hard, there wasn't any sign at the entrance of the property. It would be good to have a one.
  Street was a little bit noisy at night because of the pubs in the street.
