WSP Petrin Garden Apartments

Prague, Czech Republic
11 Újezd, Prague, 150 00, Czech Republic

Overview

You know what struck me first about WSP Petrin Garden Apartments? The address – 11 Újezd – puts you right at the foot of Petřín Hill, which honestly feels like a cheat code for Prague. I mean, most tourists are scrambling to get to this area from wherever they’re staying, and you’re basically already there. The building itself is this lovely converted space that feels more like a well-appointed apartment building than a typical hotel, which actually works in your favor because you get proper living space instead of just a room with a bed.

The apartments themselves are what really won me over though. These aren’t those cramped “aparthotels” where you can barely open a suitcase – we’re talking actual kitchens with full-size appliances, separate living areas where you can actually spread out, and bedrooms that don’t feel like afterthoughts. The design strikes this nice balance between modern functionality and that Central European charm you’re hoping for without being kitschy about it. And honestly, having a proper kitchen saves you a fortune in Prague because you can grab stuff from the local markets (there’s a great one just down on Národní) instead of eating out for every meal. The 9.3 rating isn’t surprising once you’re there – everything just works the way it should, from the WiFi to the water pressure, which sounds boring but you’ll appreciate it after a long day walking on cobblestones.

Here’s the thing about the location that guidebooks don’t really capture – you’re close enough to walk to Old Town Square (maybe 15 minutes if you’re not dawdling), but you’re on the quiet side of the river where locals actually live. Újezd street has this mix of cafes and shops that feel authentic rather than touristy, and when you want to escape the crowds entirely, Petřín Park is literally across the street. I’d walk up there in the early mornings before the city woke up – there’s something magical about having those paths to yourself. The funicular railway is right there too if you’re feeling lazy or your feet are protesting. Parking can be tricky in this area (like most of central Prague), but they’ve sorted that out better than most places. The staff actually knows the neighborhood and will give you real recommendations, not just the obvious tourist spots. Sure, it’s not the cheapest option in Prague, but when you factor in the space, the location, and not having to figure out public transport every time you want to see something interesting, it’s actually pretty solid value.

Great location, lots of restaurants and shops near by. Lovely light and very spacious apartment in a beautiful traditional building.

What could be improved: It’s a little noisy due to the busy road and trams, we didn’t mind this though.
