Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about this place? It’s actually in one of those narrow cobblestone streets that tourists usually just walk past on their way to Charles Bridge – but that’s exactly what makes it perfect. Karoliny Svetle is this quiet little artery that runs parallel to all the chaos, so you’re literally a two-minute walk from the bridge without dealing with the street performers and crowds right outside your window. I mean, you can still hear the distant hum of tourism, but it’s more like a gentle reminder that you’re in the heart of Prague rather than an assault on your senses.
The building itself has that distinctly Prague thing going on – you know, where it looks like it’s been here forever but inside it’s been thoughtfully updated without losing its soul. The apartments (because these are proper residences, not just hotel rooms) have these gorgeous high ceilings and original details that make you feel like you’re staying in someone’s actual Prague home rather than some sterile accommodation. What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to fit modern kitchens and bathrooms into these historic spaces without it feeling forced or awkward. The kitchens are actually functional too – I’m talking full-size appliances, proper counter space, the works. Perfect if you want to grab fresh bread from one of the nearby bakeries and make your own breakfast instead of paying hotel prices.
Honestly, the location spoils you. You’re in Old Town but on one of the quieter streets, which means you can stumble home from dinner without fighting through crowds, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. Charles Bridge is right there, obviously, but you’re also walking distance to Wenceslas Square, the Jewish Quarter, all those winding streets with the good restaurants that locals actually go to. And here’s something most people don’t think about – parking. If you’re driving in Prague (which, let’s be honest, you probably shouldn’t), this area is tricky, but the staff actually knows the neighborhood well enough to give you real advice, not just directions to the nearest expensive garage. The 8.7 rating makes total sense when you experience how smoothly everything runs – check-in was seamless, the place was spotless, and when I had a question about the washing machine, someone came up within minutes to show me the trick to getting it started. It’s that kind of attention to detail that makes you feel like you’re being taken care of rather than just processed.

What could be improved: Top floor lots of stairs
Need a few more utensils
Need a code for Tv which we never hadGreat place to stay, very helpfull staff – Chih-sheng from Netherlands – 7 August 2024 (9/10)
Great location, everything close at walking distance. Public transport easy accessible. The appartment was modern and old together which gave a great ambiance.
Be sure you park outsife the city center, owner will provide you with all the details.
What could be improved: Should have know there are no elevators in these old buildings, it is quite a climb of steps to the appartment.Exceptional – Jan-niclas from Germany – 27 May 2024 (10/10)
Very nice Appartement in the middle of the old town. Very friendly host, everything was perfect!
Nice room attic apartment in one of the best locations in Prague. – Rolf from United States – 15 July 2023 (9/10)
Awesome location, literally 1.5 blocks from Charles Bridge and 150 feet from river. Comfortable and roomy
What could be improved: Our only issue was the Sofa bed was broken but I think this will be fixed by the time you rent it…Close to city center but no parking and a very warm – Nina from Denmark – 23 July 2024 (8/10)
The location close to city center
What could be improved: It was on fourth floor under the roof and very very warm. The AC was extremely Loud and Could not cool the rooms. The were no curtains in the Living room so it was very Bright In the morning for the people sleeping there.
A lot of quick building solutions in the apartment that also seemed a bit worn down
The contacting staff was pretty rude when we were in contact regarding our arrivaltime.
There is no parking so I Think it is misleading that the apartment is shown when seaching for a place with parking.Superb – Michal from Switzerland – 17 October 2023 (9/10)
Friendly host and great location. Thank you.
Nice apartment in great location – Kiran from United Kingdom – 24 September 2024 (7/10)
Very stylish property in the heart of the old town
What could be improved: It was advertised as 1 bed and 2 sofa beds. But actually was just 1 bed and 1 sofa bed. We messaged the owner who arranged for an inflatable mattress to be added. Great responsiveness but if booking again we would have opted for an actual 3 bed property.
Also be aware the pictures on the main ad are of a different property, you need to click on the pictures and select ‘loft’ to see the actual apartmentThe place is horrible – Peter from Hungary – 29 December 2024 (1/10)
Nothing
What could be improved: The water in the restroom was leaking, therefore making the sink unusable. It was very cold, the thermostat wasn't working, two people in the family got sick. The bed was about to collapse, the walls were coming off, the floor was extremely cold. Bath cannot be filled, the water runs down. The sofa was supposed to fit 2 people, if you moved a bit you fell in between the two parts of it. Everything is horrible and nothing looks like the pictures. The people weren't communicating properly towards us either.Super appartement in centrum Praag – Sabine from Netherlands – 26 May 2025 (10/10)
Zeer ruim en luxe appartement met centrale ligging in Praag.
