Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Wenceslass Square Royal Residence Apartments, you immediately get that “I’m staying somewhere special” feeling — and honestly, the location alone justifies that reaction. This four-star property sits right on Štěpánská street, which means you’re literally steps from Wenceslas Square without dealing with the tourist chaos directly outside your door. The building has that classic Prague elegance you see in postcards, but what struck me most was how it manages to feel both grand and welcoming at the same time.

Location & Neighborhood

Here’s what I love about this spot — you can walk to Prague Castle, the Old Town Square, and pretty much every major sight without breaking a sweat, but you’re tucked just enough off the main drag to actually get some peace. Štěpánská is one of those streets that locals use as a shortcut, so there’s always something happening but it’s not overwhelmingly touristy. The nearest metro station is maybe two minutes away, and there’s this great little café around the corner that serves proper Czech coffee (not the watered-down stuff you get near the major attractions). Couples absolutely rave about wandering these streets in the evening — I mean, a 9.5 rating from couples says it all.

The Apartments

What sets Wenceslass Square Royal Residence Apartments apart is that you’re getting actual apartment-style accommodations, not just a hotel room with a mini-fridge. The spaces feel genuinely livable — I’m talking full kitchens where you could actually cook a meal, separate living areas where you can spread out, and bedrooms that don’t feel cramped. The décor strikes this nice balance between traditional Prague charm and modern comfort. You know what really impressed me? The windows are properly soundproofed, which matters when you’re this close to the city center. The Wi-Fi actually works well too, which isn’t always a given in these older Prague buildings.

Daily Life & Amenities

Since these are apartments, you’ve got the freedom to live like a local for a few days. There’s a Tesco just down the street where you can grab groceries, and honestly, picking up some Czech bread and local cheese for breakfast beats overpriced hotel food any day. The staff here really know their stuff about the neighborhood — they’ll point you toward the good restaurants that aren’t tourist traps and give you actual useful directions (not just “it’s nearby”). The building itself is well-maintained, and you get that sense of security that comes with a properly managed property.

Why Guests Love It

The 8.9 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here. It’s that combination of being right in the thick of things but still having your own space to retreat to. Prague can be overwhelming with all the crowds and constant sightseeing, so having an apartment where you can actually relax and regroup is invaluable. Plus, there’s something satisfying about staying somewhere that feels authentically Prague rather than generically international. The location score of 9.8 isn’t just marketing fluff — you really can walk everywhere that matters, and when your feet are tired from all those cobblestones, you’re never more than a few minutes from home base.

Everything was as expected. The noises from the street were sometimes a little disturbing. Apart from that, all fine and smooth.

What could be improved: I couldn't find channels on the TV. Not that I needed them.

What could be improved: The lock/ key to get into the apartment door was a bit tricky

Apartment is great! Amazing location, very spacious, and has everything needed in it. Beds very comfortable.

What could be improved: The only downside is the air-conditioning - there are 2 standalone air conditioners, one was very noisy, and there is no place to put the hose to let out the hot air that comes out of it. You need to put it out the window and it's a bit tricky to keep it there.
We would definitely stay there again, but not in the hottest time of the year :)
