Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the Wenceslas Square Hotel, I wasn’t expecting much from the exterior. It’s tucked on Mezibranská, which is actually perfect because you’re literally a two-minute walk from all the Wenceslas Square action, but you don’t get the tourist chaos right outside your window. The building itself has that solid Central European feel, nothing too flashy, but once you step inside… well, that’s where they got it right.

The lobby has this warm, understated elegance that feels authentically Prague without trying too hard. I mean, you know how some hotels go overboard with the “local charm” thing? This place doesn’t do that. The staff actually seemed to know what they were doing – check-in was smooth, and the guy at reception gave me genuinely useful tips about avoiding the crowds at Prague Castle (go early, like 8 AM early, trust me on this). My room was on the fourth floor, and here’s something I appreciated – proper blackout curtains and windows that actually seal well. Prague can get surprisingly noisy, especially with all the trams, but I slept better here than at some places twice the price.

What really sold me on this place, though, was the location intelligence. You’re close enough to walk to Old Town Square in about ten minutes, but you’re also right near some of the better local spots that tourists miss. There’s this little wine bar called Vinotéka that’s maybe three blocks away – locals actually drink there, which tells you something. And if you need groceries or just want to see how regular Prague works, the Tesco on Národní is an easy walk. The hotel doesn’t have its own parking (honestly, most don’t in this area), but there’s a decent garage about five minutes away, and they’ll tell you exactly how to get there. Breakfast was… well, it’s hotel breakfast, but they do proper Czech pastries and the coffee’s actually drinkable. I’ve stayed at fancier places in Prague that felt like they were performing “luxury” for you, but this one just quietly does everything well. The 8.7 rating makes sense – it’s not trying to be the flashiest option on the square, but if you want a solid base for exploring Prague without paying tourist-trap prices, this is your spot.

  Good location near metro and railway main station.
  Staff is very friendly and helpful. Spacious room and Prague Castle view from our room. Good breakfast.

  Everything was very clean, we very greeted very nicely, everything was explained very well.
  
  When we needed help, the receptionist (Dayana) was very accommodating and helpful which we appreciated a lot.
  
  What could be improved: There were a bit narrow stairs to get to some of the rooms which might be difficult for some people, e.g., when they would have big luggage.
  
  For us this was not a problem though, and I'm quite sure the staff would help in situations like that 🙂

  Leisurely stroll from the old town but away from all the noise.

  Excellent welcome. Interesting old hotel, room very comfortable and characterful. Rooftop bar (complimentary free drink) worth a visit for its view. Free bottle of decent-looking wine in the room, but did not indulge! Very good breakfast.

  I loved this hotel.
  
  The staff were super friendly. They gave me some great welcome presents and other things during my stay.
  
  The room was lovely – classic style and well-equipped. It is an older style hotel, which I particularly liked. And the rooftop terrace was great, especially in the evening as the sun goes down over Prague Castle.
  
  I will definitely be staying here next time I come to Prague.

  Great location. Lovely rooms and the view from the roof top bar was fantastic! The staff on reception were fabulous, really friendly and helpful.
  
  What could be improved: The room we were in got really hot and there was no way to cool it down as you couldn’t open a window and the air con/heater didn’t go cold enough.
  The roof top bar was really good apart from they advertised cocktails on their menu and 2 nights in a row we asked for one and they couldn’t do it.
