Vitkova Duplex apartment with terrace near Florenc Overview
You know what’s funny about Prague? Everyone tells you to stay right in Old Town, but honestly, some of the best spots are tucked away in neighborhoods that feel more… real. This duplex on Vítkova is one of those finds that makes you feel a bit smug about your travel choices.
First thing that hits you – and I mean this in the best way – is how quiet it gets at night despite being maybe a 12-minute walk from Florenc metro station. The building itself has that solid, pre-war feel where the walls are actually thick enough that you’re not hearing your neighbor’s morning routine. The apartment spreads across two levels, which sounds fancy but really just means you get proper separation between your sleeping space and the living area. That terrace though? It’s not huge, but it catches afternoon sun perfectly, and you can actually see some green from Petřin Park if you crane your neck a bit. I spent way too many mornings out there with coffee, watching the city wake up.
The location is honestly brilliant once you figure it out. Vítkova street runs parallel to some of the main tourist drags, but it feels like a different world – you’ve got a decent bakery two blocks down (the kind where locals actually line up), and there’s this wine bar called Vzorkovna that’s become my go-to recommendation for people who want to drink Czech wine without the Old Town markup. Florenc might not sound glamorous – it’s basically Prague’s main bus terminal – but the metro connection means you’re three stops from Wenceslas Square, and the trams from there can get you pretty much anywhere. Plus, walking toward the river, you hit this gorgeous stretch along the Vltava that most tourists never see because they’re all crammed onto Charles Bridge. The whole Karlín district has been quietly gentrifying, so you get these interesting pockets of new restaurants mixed with old-school pubs that haven’t changed since the ’90s. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – no hovering concierge, just clear instructions and keys that actually work. The space feels lived-in rather than sterile, with decent kitchen equipment if you’re planning to hit the farmers market at Jiřího z Poděbrad (about 15 minutes on tram). My only real complaint? The shower pressure could be better, and the Wi-Fi gets a bit spotty on the upper level, but honestly, that forced me to spend more time on that terrace, so maybe it’s a feature, not a bug.
Apartments in Prague provide travelers with an authentic local experience, allowing them to shop at traditional markets and cook with fresh ingredients from the renowned Czech culinary traditions.

Reviews of Vitkova Duplex apartment with terrace near Florenc
Very good – Mrs from Ukraine – 14 May 2025 (8/10)
A very nice and spacious apartment. The view from the terrace is incredible. It’s in a good neighborhood with a great location—close to the metro and also within walking distance to the city center.
There are plenty of restaurants and grocery stores nearby.
The apartment has two bathrooms and all the necessary appliances for living, including a washing machine.
What could be improved: The downside is probably that there are cobwebs and spiders in the bathroom. We tried our best to ignore them 🙂
Also, the hairdryer could use an upgrade — something newer and more powerful would be better.Nice apartment close to the centre of Prague – Hana from Serbia – 10 December 2024 (9/10)
The apartment is very quiet, on the 5 floor of an apartment building. There's ample room for 4 people, with two bathrooms. We came in winter and it was very warm. The supermarket and metro station are a five minute walk from the apartment. The street also provides ample parking, which you can pay for in advance.
What could be improved: There are no shades on the skylights in the upstairs bedroom. It was ok in the winter, when the sun rises late, but I expect in the summer it gets very bright very early.A wonderful trip to magical Prague. – Olivera from Serbia – 17 November 2024 (9/10)
Location is very good, near the metro end centar of the city
Comfortable apartment close to transport. – Noel from Australia – 2 October 2024 (8/10)
comfortable apartment with good bed close to transport. Internet was good.
What could be improved: Coffee pod machine but no pods providedGood – Paula from Romania – 22 July 2025 (8/10)
Quiet and near public transport and city center (we actually walked towards and from a couple of times). 2 bathrooms are definitely a plus. Balcony offers privacy. Clean sheets and towels. Not a bad stay after all.
What could be improved: The bed and pillows are uncomfortable. Some of the kitchen appliances needs an update, especially the oven. The sofa needs a washable cover. There is only dish and hand soap, so bring all you need.Ganske fint Personalet var flinke og ville gerne læse tingene. – Michael from Denmark – 14 October 2024 (8/10)
Centralt. Billigt. Meget for pengene. Velassorteret køkken. Masser plads.
What could be improved: Der var nogle små mangelfulde detaljer. Håndtaget faldet af ovnen. Et wc der ikke kunne skylle. Til gengæld var der to toiletter. Lavt tryk på bruseren på det ene toilet men fint på det andet.Very good – Marta from Poland – 13 August 2024 (8/10)
Apartament dobrze wyposażony, lokalizacja do zwiedzania super, cisza, spokój.
What could be improved: Nie do końca czysto, ale mimo wszystko pobyt udany.Very good – Andrea from Italy – 13 July 2025 (8/10)
Pulizia posizione
What could be improved: Nulla di particolareSuper séjour – Anne from France – 17 June 2025 (8/10)
Hôte très agréable et réactif aux messages
Taxi venu le récupérer même si mon vol avait du retard et s’est chargé de me montrer le logement
Bien placé et très agréable
What could be improved: Les oreillers mais question de goût 😅Very good – Dana from Czech Republic – 4 April 2025 (8/10)
Nádherná lokalita, blízko do města a k MHD, do Hudebního divadla Karlín, plno restaurací včetně snídaňových.
What could be improved: V kuchyňce je kávovar na kapsle-bez kapslí. V obchodě jsme na kapsle KRUPS nenarazily.
