Veleslavin Apartments

Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Veleslavin Apartments? It’s actually in this quiet residential pocket of Prague that most tourists never discover – and honestly, that’s exactly why it works so well. The building sits on Veleslavínská street in the Veleslavín district, which sounds fancy but is really just a peaceful neighborhood where actual Czechs live their daily lives. I mean, you’re about a 15-minute metro ride from Old Town Square, but you get to wake up to the sound of birds instead of tour groups.

The apartments themselves feel like someone’s well-appointed flat that they’ve decided to share – not some sterile hotel room where everything’s bolted down. The kitchens are actually functional (I made coffee every morning and even attempted goulash one evening), and the living spaces have this lived-in quality that makes you want to sprawl out with a book. What really impressed me was the attention to practical details – proper blackout curtains that actually block light, decent water pressure in the showers, and WiFi that doesn’t cut out every five minutes. The furnishings lean modern without being cold, if that makes sense. There’s parking available too, which is sort of a miracle in Prague, though you’ll want to reserve a spot ahead of time.

The location thing is interesting because you’re technically outside the tourist bubble, but the Veleslavín metro station is literally a few minutes’ walk away. From there, you can zip into the city center or – and here’s what I loved – easily reach Petřin Hill for morning runs or evening walks. The neighborhood has this small-town feel within the big city; there’s a decent grocery store nearby, a few local pubs where English isn’t the primary language (in a good way), and tree-lined streets that feel genuinely European without trying too hard. I found myself walking to the nearby park most evenings, watching locals walk their dogs and kids play football. It’s the kind of place where you start to feel like you’re living in Prague rather than just visiting it, which I think explains that 9.3 rating. Sure, you won’t stumble out your front door onto Charles Bridge, but you also won’t be dodging selfie sticks at 7 AM either.

nice flat with secured parking area. flat is located next to the underground station what's great for traveling within Prague. flat offer everything you need for short stay - kitchen, fridge, 2x sleeping rooms, 2x bathrooms and big living-dining room. very convenient and i would come anytime again!

What could be improved: nothing in particulars. important to say is that flat is located on 3rd floor without elevator - this is clear disadvantage for people with limited mobility -> for us that's no problem at all.

A nice, cosy, well equipped and clean apartment near to the public transport. There is also private parking. The communication and check-in were uncomplicated and efficient.

What could be improved: The building itself isn't very soundproof. There were other guests that talked and laughed loudly in the hall during the night, and we could hear everything.
