Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first walked up to U Stare Pani on Michalská Street, I wasn’t expecting much – the entrance is pretty understated, tucked between other old buildings in a way that makes you wonder if you’re in the right place. But that’s actually part of its charm, you know? This 4-star spot sits right in the heart of Prague’s Old Town, and I mean literally a two-minute walk from the astronomical clock (which, fair warning, gets absolutely mobbed with tourists around the hour marks).
What struck me most was how they’ve managed to keep that authentic medieval Prague feeling without making you feel like you’re sleeping in a museum. The rooms have this cozy, lived-in quality – thick stone walls that actually keep the street noise down pretty well, which is no small feat considering you’re basically in the epicenter of tourist central. The staff genuinely knows their stuff too; when I mentioned wanting to find a good traditional Czech restaurant that wasn’t a total tourist trap, the front desk guy immediately pointed me toward Lokál on Dlouhá Street instead of the obvious places right around the corner. That kind of local insight is worth its weight in gold.
I’ll be straight with you – parking is basically nonexistent unless you’re willing to pay through the nose for a garage, but honestly, once you’re here you won’t need a car anyway. Everything’s walkable, and I mean everything. Wenceslas Square is maybe eight minutes on foot, the Jewish Quarter is right there, and if you want to escape the crowds, you can duck into the little side streets around Bethlehem Square where it gets surprisingly quiet. The hotel itself sits at that perfect sweet spot where you’re close enough to stumble back after a night sampling Czech beer (and trust me, you will), but far enough from the main square that you’re not dealing with street performers at 11 PM. The 8.9 rating makes total sense when you factor in that balance – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Prague, but it nails the things that actually matter when you’re exploring a city like this.
Early hotels booking in Prague is essential during major events like the Prague Spring Festival, as accommodations fill up quickly with visitors eager to experience the city’s renowned classical music scene and Gothic architecture.

I recently stayed at "At the Old Lady Hotel" and had an exceptional experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring all my needs were met throughout my stay. The room was spacious, immaculately clean, and tastefully decorated, providing a comfortable and relaxing environment. Breakfast is included in the price and it was very tasty and varied. I highly recommend "At the Old Lady Hotel".

The best location, super friendly staff always greeting, beautiful restaurant for the breakfast. The rooms was big, facing a charm inner courtyard, sunkissed all day long. No polished walls as a modern hotel but you could see yourself writing a book there and be the next Kafka.
What could be improved: Disposable slippers can help a lot and wouldnt harm the envirnoment. Breakfast was okay, can be better on options. Softer beds.Zafrir from Israel – 2 March 2025 (9/10)
Best location, walking distance from lots of places

Check in was excellent. We arrived a couple hours early and was allowed to check in at no extra cost. Reception staff very friendly and on our way back out gave us a map and explained were was best to go. She was really lovely and friendly. Excellent location. We went for Christmas markets. First markets we found were right around the corner near the Astronomical Clock. Just by walking around we stumbled upon 4 different clocks. Room was very clean with everything we needed. Breakfast was surprisingly good as we were not expecting much from the pictures but it was fresh and really nice. Would recommend this hotel to friends and family as very central. There was also double doors with juliet balcony were you could people watch whilst having a little rest. Thank you
What could be improved: There was nothing to dislike. The price was very reasonable for the location and cleanliness of hotel. Staff were friendly and informative.Frösch from Switzerland – 8 January 2025 (9/10)
Its in the central. We never had to take a taxi. maximum 15 minutes walk to the most important places
Kristi from United States – 7 January 2025 (9/10)
Fantastic location, just a 5 minute walk to everything we wanted to see: The Christmas markets, Old Town, the museums. It was a perfect place to stay. The breakfast had a good variety of hot and cold foods, great coffee, and plenty of space. The room had a nice area for our luggage, a very comfortable bed, and the lift worked great.
What could be improved: Room was a little noisy due to neighbors, but the noise was fine at night.Adrianus from Netherlands – 6 January 2025 (9/10)
Our stay at U Stare Pani – At the Old Lady Hotel was pleasant. The hotel’s location is excellent for a nice visit to Prague, and all public transport facilities are nearby. The hotel is somewhat dated but spacious and clean. Breakfast was very good, offering plenty of choice and good coffee. The staff are very friendly and helpful. In short, a pleasant stay at this hotel.

Great place, excellent location, room was comfy, breakfast wad great, the staff was very kind! Very recommended!
What could be improved: There's a small staircase (7 stairs) required to reach the elevator. We came with a baby with a stroller and had to carry it up and down every time we came and went. Although it's just 7 stairs, it takes it's toll after few days of stay (we were 5 days)..
