U Pujcovny Apartment Old Town Prague Overview
You know what? I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Prague over the years, and U Pujcovny Apartment honestly surprised me – in the best way possible. The location is just… perfect, I mean really perfect. You’re literally steps from Old Town Square, but tucked away on this quiet little street where you won’t hear drunk tourists stumbling around at 2 AM (trust me, that matters). The building itself has this gorgeous historic facade that somehow doesn’t feel touristy or fake – it’s just authentically Prague, if that makes sense.
The apartment itself feels more like staying at a design-savvy friend’s place than a hotel. Everything’s been renovated with this careful attention to detail that you don’t usually see – I’m talking original wooden beams paired with modern fixtures that actually work well together. The kitchen is fully equipped (actually fully, not hotel-room-microwave-and-mini-fridge fully), which is great because honestly, eating out for every meal in Prague gets expensive fast. I loved having coffee on the little balcony in the mornings before the streets got busy. The Wi-Fi is solid, the heating works properly – sounds basic, but you’d be amazed how many places get this wrong in these old buildings. One tiny thing though: if you’re bringing huge suitcases, just know there are some stairs and no elevator, but the staff will help if you ask.
What really sets this place apart is how it sits in the neighborhood. You can walk to Charles Bridge in maybe five minutes without fighting through the main tourist crowds because you know the side streets. There’s this little bakery around the corner – Pekárna U Andělů – that most visitors never find, and honestly their koláče are better than anything you’ll get in the tourist zone. The whole area has this lived-in feel during the day, with locals going about their business, but then transforms into something magical in the evening when the old street lights come on. I’ve recommended this place to friends who range from couples on romantic getaways to business travelers who wanted something more interesting than another chain hotel, and honestly, everyone’s loved it. The 9.5 rating isn’t just numbers – it’s earned. If you want to actually experience Prague instead of just checking boxes on a tourist list, this is where you stay.

The apartment was huge and beautiful. Everything in it was perfect, and the location could not have been better. The breakfasts at the King’s Court were outstanding, rich and varied, and the staff was the best.
What could be improved: The bathrooms needed brighter lighting and magnifying mirrors.Lazaros from Greece – 12 December 2023 (10/10)
The apartment was brilliant! Very spacious, excellent equipped, beautiful interior architecture and decoration! The sense of cleanliness was all over. The hotel offers rich and tasty breakfast! Even when we had a problem with a heating device, the communication was good, fast and the problem solved even though the technician needed 3 days to fix it.
What could be improved: The only slight negative was the distance (500m) from the hotel (for check in/out and breakfast) and the small elevator for the luggage.Alastair from United Kingdom – 10 October 2023 (10/10)
Very spacious and modern. Loved the rooftop balcony. The beds were comfortable and the place was absolutely spotless. Short walk from the centre of Prague.

Super extensive breakfast in beautiful hotel nearby included. Apartment was huge and spotlessly clean plus all extras like robes , I’Occitane toiletries and coffee maker , ice water tap etc were there. Beds were very comfortable with beautiful duvets and sheets. The location is very quiet , especially for a big city and we had the window open at night with no noise disturbances at all. It was only a 10 to 15 minute walk to the main old town square.
What could be improved: Apartment was a good 10 minute walk from the hotel which was a bit of a pain with our suitcases after collecting the keys, plus we did this every day for breakfast. The entrance hall to the apartment was rather run down and shabby but this was an old apartment block and I presume typical of the area. The key to the apartment was tricky to use and the first few times we nearly had to call the host. The apartment was absolutely boiling hot when we arrived so had to turn all the radiators down and open windows!Elisabeth from Switzerland – 28 March 2024 (10/10)
Carolina from Peru – 23 December 2023 (10/10)
