I stayed here during shoulder season in October, and while the main tourist areas were still pretty crowded, this neighborhood had that perfect lived-in feel where you’d see locals walking their dogs and grabbing coffee, not just people with cameras around their necks.

What struck me most was how quiet it gets at night, especially for being so central. The windows actually block out street noise pretty well (something I always worry about in European cities), and the bed – well, I slept better than I do at home, which is saying something.
