You know what struck me first about the TurnKey Antonin Dvorak Apartments? The name actually makes sense once you’re there – there’s this subtle musical theme woven throughout that feels authentic rather than gimmicky. Located on Žitná Street in New Town, it’s one of those places that Prague locals would describe as “properly central” without being touristy. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from Wenceslas Square, but the street itself has that lived-in Prague vibe where you’ll see office workers grabbing coffee and residents walking their dogs.

The apartments themselves have this really nice balance between old Prague character and modern functionality that honestly surprised me. The building has those beautiful high ceilings you expect in this part of the city, but someone clearly put thought into the renovations – the kitchens actually work (huge plus if you’ve stayed in other Prague apartments), and the WiFi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes like it does in half the places around here. What I really appreciated was the soundproofing, because Žitná can get a bit busy during the day with trams and traffic, but once you’re inside, it’s genuinely quiet. The furnishings feel more like someone’s well-maintained apartment than hotel furniture – there’s personality to it without being cluttered.

Here’s the thing that really sold me on this place: the staff actually knows Prague. When I asked about getting to Vinohrady for dinner, the guy at reception didn’t just point me toward the tourist restaurants – he mentioned this little wine bar on Korunní that locals go to, and gave me the tram route that avoids the construction near the museum. That kind of local knowledge makes such a difference when you’re trying to experience Prague beyond the castle and the astronomical clock (though honestly, both are worth seeing if it’s your first time). The location works brilliantly for exploring different neighborhoods too – you can walk to Vinohrady in fifteen minutes, catch the metro to Lesser Town, or just wander down to the river when the weather’s nice. Check-in was smooth, parking… well, it’s Prague, so street parking is what it is, but they’ll point you toward the nearest garage if you’re driving. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted that sweet spot between having my own space and being right in the heart of things.
