Three Storks Overview

You know what struck me first about Three Storks? It’s tucked into this impossibly quiet corner of Valdštejnské náměstí – and I mean dead quiet, which is honestly shocking when you’re literally a five-minute walk from the chaos of Old Town Square. I stumbled across this place almost by accident (was actually looking for the Wallenstein Garden entrance) and ended up booking a room on the spot. The building itself is this gorgeous baroque thing that’s been restored so carefully you can still see the original frescoes peeking through in the lobby, but everything feels lived-in rather than museum-y, if that makes sense.

The rooms are what really got me though – and I’ve stayed in plenty of Prague hotels that throw around five stars like confetti. These actually deserve it. The ceilings are ridiculously high with these original wooden beams, and they’ve managed to fit modern bathrooms without destroying the character of the place. My room overlooked the little square, and honestly, mornings there are magical – you’ll hear church bells from St. Nicholas instead of tram noise, and there’s this tiny café across the way where locals grab coffee before the tourists even wake up. The staff seems to actually live in Prague (shocking concept, I know) and gave me directions to this amazing wine bar in Malá Strana that I never would’ve found otherwise. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no upselling, no lengthy explanations of amenities I didn’t ask about.

What really sets Three Storks apart is the location knowledge you get just by staying there. You’re literally in the heart of Lesser Town, which means you can walk to Prague Castle without dealing with the tour bus madness on Nerudova Street – there’s this little side route through Kampa Island that the concierge showed me on an actual paper map. The neighborhood has this residential feel even though you’re surrounded by baroque palaces and government buildings. I’d walk out in the evening and run into the same dog walker or see the same elderly woman tending her window boxes. It feels like staying in someone’s very elegant Prague apartment rather than a hotel, honestly. The only minor thing – and this is really minor – is that rooms facing the courtyard can get a bit echo-y when other guests are coming and going late at night, but the trade-off is you’re sleeping in complete silence otherwise. If you’re trying to decide between this and some massive hotel near Wenceslas Square, don’t even think about it. Three Storks gets Prague right in a way that most places just… don’t.

What could be improved: That we had to leave! We will be back!

  • Caroline from United Kingdom – 26 February 2025 (9/10)

Great location and breakfast in beautiful hotel

  • Alex from United Kingdom – 25 February 2025 (9/10)

Best room we have stayed in ever. We were greeted with a complimentary drink and our suitcases were taken up to the room for us while we waited. We were upgraded, at no additional cost, to Room 25 which had an amazing view of the Castle and was warm, comfortable and spacious. It was so good that we almost resented leaving the room to visit the beautiful city of Prague.

What could be improved: I think they could have some more interesting wines, spirits and beers at the bar… but this is a quibble!

    Everything!!

  • Daniel from Czech Republic – 18 February 2025 (9/10)

This hotel is quite nice, clean and perfectly normal in every way. The best thing about it is probably the location, as it is right in the old town and just a few minute walk to Charles Bridge and the Prague castle. The rooms were small, but comfortable and modern with good Wi-Fi connections as well. The breakfast also was fresh and with a good variety.

What could be improved: Although listed as a five star hotel, I would rather rank it as a good four star. It isn’t that big and didn’t have the feel of a hotel with extra amenities. But location and price for value were top notch.
