Hotel Description

Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Prague’s Lesser Town, but Three Golden Crowns Apartments hit differently – and honestly, it’s all about that address. You’re literally on Malostranské náměstí, which means you wake up looking at baroque buildings that have been standing there since before America was even a thing. I mean, most tourists are fighting crowds just to get a photo of this square, and you’re having your morning coffee watching the whole scene unfold below.

The apartments themselves are solid – nothing fancy, but that 9.1 rating isn’t an accident. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, despite being right in the heart of everything. The square empties out after the day-trippers head back to their cruise ships or tour buses, and suddenly you’ve got this incredibly peaceful courtyard vibe going on. The rooms are clean and functional (it’s a 3-star, so manage expectations accordingly), but the real magic happens when you step outside. You’re maybe a two-minute walk from the Lennon Wall – though honestly, skip it during peak hours unless you enjoy being shoulder-to-shoulder with selfie sticks. Charles Bridge is right there too, and here’s a local tip: hit it around 6 AM if you actually want photos without hundreds of people in them.

What really sold me on this place was the neighborhood knowledge you pick up just by being there. The old woman who runs the little grocery shop on the corner – she’ll remember you after day two and start recommending which pastries are fresh. There’s this tiny wine bar tucked into a cellar about fifty meters away that most guidebooks miss completely, and the guy who does check-in actually knows the owners and can get you a table. You know what though? Parking is going to be a nightmare if you’re driving – Prague’s old town wasn’t exactly designed for cars, and the cobblestones will rattle your teeth loose anyway. But that’s sort of the point, right? You’re staying in a place where Mozart performed and Kafka wandered around being moody, not some modern hotel district that could be anywhere in the world. The tram connections are actually perfect from here – line 12 and 20 stop right at the square, so you can get to the castle or back to the main train station without thinking about it. Just don’t expect luxury amenities or a concierge desk – this is more like borrowing a really well-located friend’s apartment than staying at a resort. But sometimes that’s exactly what makes a trip memorable.

Reviews

  • Leith from Australia – 12 May 2024 (10/10)

Excellent location. The room had beams on the floor which added to the atmosphere. You walked out of the green doors turned left and the castle was a 15 minute walk. Turn right and the Charles Bridge was a 10 minute walk. The 2 receptionists we dealt with were so helpful. They went through everything with us and also recommended places to eat. Their recommendations were spot on. We actually went to one place twice.

Everything. The location, the whole building, the apartment was very spacious and clean, very good service.

What could be improved: There was not something I didn’t like.

  • Michael from United States – 24 March 2025 (10/10)

Extremely friendly staff, very clean and very warm room which was huge considering we came in the winter. It's also located right down the street from the Charles Bridge and most of the old town. Phenomenal value for the price.

What could be improved: Genuinely can't think of anything

  • Kaminskaitė from Lithuania – 23 March 2025 (10/10)

Perfect location to explore all of what Prague has to offer. Staff is extremely helpful and gave us great recommendations of which restaurants to go to and how to best get around.

Room was amazing. Beautiful view of the castle and very quiet.

  • Layla from Austria – 7 March 2025 (10/10)

the room was very nice and comfortable, separated from the kitchen also with a spacious bathroom. Everything was clean and there was a housekeeping option. kitchen was equipped with coffee and all utensils for cooking. It is in a very nice area with a lot of shops and restaurant all around it. It is also a 20 min walk away from the old town after crossing the bridge.

  • Adam from United Kingdom – 2 March 2025 (10/10)

We stayed in one of the loft rooms. It was spacious, modern and clean. The coffee machine in the room is a nice touch. The Apartments are only a quick stroll to the Charles Bridge. I would definitely stay here again.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Stephen from United Kingdom – 25 February 2025 (10/10)

We stayed in Room 406 which was a loft apartment. The property had a wow factor and was spotless upon arrival.
The bed was super comfy and we slept so well every night.
There were lots of windows, fans and radiators to be able to get the perfect temperature.
Ironing board available for free upon request was really useful. Staff even got me an extra pillow – thanks.

What could be improved: The apartment was in a lovely area but it would be better if it was the other side of the river, as that's where most of the attractions we wanted to visit were located.
Also the shower towels were on the small side, it would be better if they were larger and an extra one for my wife's hair. I'm sure they would have given us an extra towel if I had asked though.
