Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of Prague hotels, and The Julius honestly caught me off guard – in the best way possible. You know that spot right on Senovážné náměstí where you’re basically in the heart of everything but somehow it doesn’t feel chaotic? That’s exactly where this place sits. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from Wenceslas Square, but when you’re up in your room, you’d never guess you’re in the middle of one of Europe’s busiest tourist zones.
The thing that struck me first was how they’ve managed to nail that tricky balance between historic Prague charm and actually functioning like a modern hotel. The lobby has this understated elegance – none of that over-the-top baroque stuff you see everywhere else in the city – and honestly, the check-in was smoother than most places half the price. My room (I think I was on the fourth floor) had these gorgeous high ceilings and windows that actually opened properly, which you’d be surprised how rare that is in Prague’s older buildings. The bathroom was one of those situations where you’re like “okay, someone actually thought about how real people use these spaces” – great water pressure, decent storage, and the kind of lighting where you don’t look half-dead in the mirror.
What really sold me on the place was the attention to details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The coffee in the room was legitimately good (not that instant stuff that tastes like sadness), there’s proper blackout curtains for those summer nights when Prague doesn’t get dark until like 9 PM, and – this is huge – the Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building. I spent one morning working from the lobby area and it was perfect for that. The concierge team knows their stuff too; when I asked about getting to Vinohrady for dinner, they didn’t just point toward the metro – they mentioned which tram would be more scenic and less crowded. You know, the kind of insider knowledge that makes you feel like you’re getting the real Prague experience rather than just tourist Prague. The location means you can walk to the main sights if you want, but you’re also right there for the metro and trams when your feet start protesting. I ended up extending my stay an extra night because, honestly, I just wasn’t ready to leave yet – and that 9.6 rating isn’t just some algorithm being generous, it’s what happens when a hotel actually delivers on the promise of making travel feel effortless.

We bought the Suite room without breakfast – our room came with kitchen and dining table as well as dish washer (its heaven for us since we were traveling with toddler and had so many items to wash).
On top of our bedroom, they made our sofa into a bed so my daughter can play and nap there.
Super recommended if you are traveling with kids! Very good location (less than 10 mins from the old town square)Laura from United Kingdom – 1 April 2025 (10/10)
