Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about The ICON Hotel & Lounge? It’s tucked away on V Jámě – this narrow little street that honestly feels like a secret shortcut between Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square. I mean, most tourists are stumbling around the main drags with their maps out, but you’re literally a two-minute walk from all that chaos while staying somewhere that feels completely removed from it.
The building itself has this interesting thing going on where it’s clearly been renovated with modern touches, but they kept enough of that old Prague character that you don’t feel like you’re staying in some sterile chain hotel. The lobby’s got this lounge vibe that actually works – not trying too hard to be trendy, just comfortable leather seating and decent lighting where you can actually read or work on your laptop without squinting. Check-in was refreshingly quick, and the staff seemed to genuinely know the neighborhood, which I appreciated when I asked about where to grab coffee that wasn’t tourist-trap pricing.
What really sold me on this place though was how quiet it gets at night, despite being so central. V Jámě doesn’t get the late-night foot traffic that some of the other streets do, so you can actually sleep with the windows open if you want that cool Prague air. The rooms themselves are well thought out – good blackout curtains (essential if you’re jet-lagged), decent water pressure in the shower, and honestly just enough space to spread out your stuff without feeling cramped. I stayed during shoulder season in October, and the heating worked perfectly, which might sound basic but you’d be surprised how many places in this city get that wrong. The 8.8 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Prague, but everything works the way it should, and the location really can’t be beat. You can walk to Národní třída for the trams, duck into the covered passages when it’s raining, or just wander the cobblestones when you inevitably eat too much goulash and need to walk it off. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere locals might actually recommend, not just where tour groups get dropped off.
Apartments in Prague provide travelers with an authentic local experience, allowing them to shop at traditional markets and cook with fresh ingredients from the renowned Czech culinary traditions.

Hotel was sparkling, the breakfast was good, the location was ideal to walk to centre or catch a tram. Above all the staff were probably the best we’ve ever dealt with. Attentive to a fault, very friendly and helpful.

It was much better than we thought. Everything is as you see in the picture. The bed was very spacious, everything was clean. It is also in a great location. Those who come to Prague, especially those who come with family, come directly here.
Maria from Cyprus – 1 March 2025 (9/10)
I liked the location, the room was cleaned daily, the breakfast was lovely. I also liked that there was a tiny orthodox chapel at the lobby area.
