Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Teytz Apartments on Anežská street, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in unassuming packages. This little gem sits right in the heart of Old Town, and I mean literally a two-minute walk from the astronomical clock (though thankfully far enough that you won’t hear the hourly crowds cheering).

The thing about Anežská street is that it’s one of those narrow cobblestone lanes that tour groups mostly skip – which honestly works in your favor. You get all the medieval charm without feeling like you’re living in a postcard that everyone else is trying to photograph. The apartments themselves have this sort of understated elegance that actually feels more comfortable than fancy. The owner clearly knows what travelers actually need versus what hotels think we want. I mean, there’s proper counter space in the kitchenette (revolutionary, right?) and the wifi doesn’t mysteriously disappear every time you try to video call home.

What really sold me on this place was walking out the front door and realizing I could grab proper Czech bread from the bakery around the corner, then be standing in front of St. Vitus Cathedral fifteen minutes later. The location is just… well, it’s kind of perfect if you want to feel like you’re staying in Prague rather than just visiting it. Evenings are particularly nice – once the day-trippers head back to their bus tours, the whole area settles into this quieter rhythm where you can actually hear your own footsteps on the stones. The apartment stays surprisingly quiet too, considering you’re in the city center. I was worried about noise, but the old walls are thick and the windows actually seal properly.

The 9.1 rating makes total sense once you spend a night or two here. It’s not trying to be some luxury experience with marble everything and concierge services you’ll never use. Instead, it just does the basics really, really well – clean spaces, comfortable beds, and that rare thing in Prague’s Old Town: reasonable prices that don’t make you question your life choices. Plus, and this might sound weird, but there’s something satisfying about having your own little space with a proper door key instead of those plastic hotel cards that stop working if you look at them wrong.

Early hotels booking in Prague is essential during major events like the Prague Spring Festival, as accommodations fill up quickly with visitors eager to experience the city’s renowned classical music scene and Gothic architecture.

Reviews

  • Exceptional – Patricia from Spain – 27 June 2025 (10/10)

Everything: the location, the apartment itself, with everything we needed, the comfortable beds and especially Katerina who was more than nice and helpful and made us feel at home.

  • Exceptional – Barbara from Germany – 13 June 2025 (10/10)

    Everything was perfect 🙂

  • Perfect location, beautiful apartment and everything you need for a weekend away. – Greenie87 from United Kingdom – 14 April 2025 (9/10)

Great location, just far enough to have no nosie from Old Town Square but 5 minutes walk to the square with everything you need around you. Comfy beds and fully stocked kitchen. The house is beautifully renovated.

What could be improved: I had a squeaky bed and as a light sleeper didn't help me but it was super comfy and probably fine for someone who doesn't wake at the sound of their own breathing.

  • Very good – Amelia from Australia – 28 January 2025 (8/10)

The bedrooms are big and spacey, great for a group of 4 friends

What could be improved: Shower was very small!

  • Great accommodation – William from United Kingdom – 11 January 2025 (9/10)

The layout of the unit allowed for privacy for those in each bedroom.

What could be improved: The shower unit is a bit tight for the larger person.

  • Great close-in location, quiet, with wonderful host – Cynmorgan from United States – 24 December 2024 (9/10)

Great location. Close to everything but on a quiet dead-end street. Clean. Had all amenities (except a washer). Host was terrific! Would highly recommend.

What could be improved: Would have loved access to a washer, otherwise, everything was terrific!

  • Exceptional – Karen from United States – 24 December 2024 (10/10)

The apartment was a lovely refuge in the old city center. Comfortable, clean, spacious for a family of four. Would definitely choose to stay here again when we’re back in Prague.

What could be improved: Kitchen supplies were sparse but was ok since we didn’t cook.

  • A lovely weekend stay – Claudia from South Africa – 16 December 2024 (10/10)

Loved the location of the apartment, close to all the markets but quiet enough at night. The apartment itself was very spacious. It looked exactly like the pictures. We loved our stay!
Beds were very comfy and apartment was very clean

What could be improved: An extra set of towels and maybe an extra mirror in the bedroom would have been nice

  • An excellent base to explore the sights of Prague. Clean, comfortable with a very responsive host. We had a fabulous sta – Pauline from United Kingdom – 2 December 2024 (10/10)

The location of this property is excellent. Walkable to all the main attractions yet in a quiet neighbourhood, with plenty of options for restaurants & bars close by.
Whilst the apartment is simply furnished & the bathroom & toilet a bit small for a party of 4, it is none the less very comfortable, clean & the host (Katerina) is very approachable & eager to help in any way she can. Nothing is too much trouble.

  • Great location, great host – Jesus from Spain – 2 December 2024 (10/10)

    Location, confort price/quality

    What could be improved: Nothing
