Spa Beerland Chateaux – U Zlaté Hrušky / At Golden pear Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Spa Beerland Chateaux – U Zlaté Hrušky / At Golden pear, you immediately sense there’s something different about this place. The name alone tells a story — it’s this wonderful blend of Czech tradition and modern hospitality that somehow works perfectly together. Located on Nový Svět street in Prague, this four-star property sits in what locals know as one of the most charming corners of the city, and honestly, the 9.2 location score doesn’t surprise me at all.
The Neighborhood Magic
Nový Svět translates to “New World,” but don’t let that fool you — this area feels like stepping back in time. You’re tucked away from the tourist crowds yet still incredibly close to Prague Castle and the main sights. I mean, couples consistently rate this location 9.1 out of 10, and after spending time here, I get why. The cobblestone streets are lined with colorful baroque houses, and there’s this peaceful quality that’s hard to find elsewhere in the city center. You can actually hear birds chirping in the morning instead of just traffic noise.
What Makes It Special
The spa element isn’t just thrown into the name for marketing — they really mean it. After a long day exploring Prague’s hills (and trust me, there are plenty), having access to proper wellness facilities makes all the difference. The property manages to feel intimate without being cramped, which is something you don’t always find in Prague’s historic buildings. Each room has character — you know, the kind of details that come from a building with actual history rather than trying to fake it.
Practical Comforts
What I really appreciate is how they’ve balanced preserving the historic charm with modern comfort. The restaurant serves both Czech classics and international options, which honestly saves you from having to venture out every single meal (though you’ll want to explore the neighborhood anyway). Parking in this part of Prague can be tricky, but they’ve sorted that out for guests, which removes one major headache from your stay. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your visit work, not just going through the motions.
Why Guests Love It
There’s something about staying here that feels like you’ve discovered a secret that most tourists miss. You’re close enough to walk to all the major attractions — Prague Castle is practically next door — but you return each evening to this quiet, almost village-like atmosphere. The 8.8 guest rating reflects what I experienced: it’s not trying to be the flashiest hotel in Prague, but it delivers on the things that actually matter. You get authentic Czech hospitality, a location that locals would choose, and that rare combination of convenience and tranquility that makes a trip memorable rather than just another hotel stay.

Reviews of Spa Beerland Chateaux – U Zlaté Hrušky / At Golden pear
Very good – Екатерина from Belarus – 26 February 2025 (8/10)
Spacious kibg-design room, nice bathroom with a transparent wall – only for families. Unlimited fresh beer at the reception. Comfortable beds.
What could be improved: No breakfasts, no lifts, bad sound isolation. Will recommend to anyone I know staying in prague – Mark from United Kingdom – 5 December 2024 (10/10)
Hotel was superb, wish we had arrived a little earlier so I could have enjoyed more of your fantastic beer, room was gorgeous and super comfy and spotless
What could be improved: The only negative was that if you decided to have a shower rather than a bath there was nowhere on the wall to clip the shower head to so you had to hold it.I'd love to stay here again! – Cathleen from United States – 4 October 2024 (10/10)
The staff was very dedicated to my comfort. I loved the decor and the location is superb. The keg in the reception was a delight, even though I couldn't often partake due to work. The heating was. great, as was the hot water in the shower. The building was secure and safe. I'd love to stay here again!

.Charming little hotel in a great location. Very clean room with a comfortable bed . Very quiet at night.
I had the beer bath immediately after my arrival to Prague and it was very relaxing and rejuvenating after a long flight . Don't forget to book it!!! It's definitely a one of the kind experience!
What could be improved: The room had no air conditioningClassy hotel in the castle area of Prague with Beer Spa experience – Diego from Switzerland – 25 July 2023 (9/10)
Amazing rooms. Seems like to sleep in a museum. Very spacy and comfortable. Air conditioning throughout the ventilation system was extremely valuable on the hot days of July 2023. Nice details in the room like the kettle from Rohnson in ceramic. Nice bath tube and beer shampoos. I recommend the beer spa in the basement, which is an amazing experience. Tubs out of wood with bubbles in nice decorated rooms and unlimited beer. The location is also quite good in the area of the castle. Very good breakfast!
What could be improved: The first person we've met from the staff was really unfriendly and pissed off, that we'd arrived at 9:15 pm instead of 9 pm as announced. Every request was a burden for her. She was so unfriendly and probably so angry, that she forgot to switch off the music in the corridor. For this reason, we didn't sleep well the first night. The other ladies from the staff were really helpfully and friendly and exceeded our expectations. Some parts of the room had not been cleaned before arrival (table next to the beds), toilets and floor, which is quite unacceptable, when arriving at 9 pm in the evening. The breakfast starts at 9:30 am, which is way to late for a hotel!!Beautiful room, lovely breakfast, great location – Phillippa from Australia – 26 June 2023 (8/10)
