You know what struck me first about Spa Beerland Chateaux? The name sounds almost comical until you actually walk up to this golden-hued building tucked into Nový Svět – honestly, one of Prague’s most quietly magical streets that most tourists completely miss. I mean, while everyone’s elbowing each other around Old Town Square, you’re literally a ten-minute walk away in what feels like a completely different century. The “At Golden Pear” part makes perfect sense when you see the place – there’s this warm, honey-colored facade that catches the afternoon light just right, and the whole street has this fairy-tale quality that the guidebooks try to describe but never quite capture.

The location is actually brilliant if you know Prague at all. You’re nestled right below the Castle (you can see it looming above you, which is pretty spectacular at night), but you’re on this winding cobblestone lane that feels more like a secret village than part of a major European capital. The spa element isn’t just marketing fluff either – they’ve got this surprisingly sophisticated wellness setup that doesn’t feel overly precious or intimidating. What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to blend the historical atmosphere with genuinely comfortable modern touches. The rooms have these thick walls that keep everything blissfully quiet, which is something you definitely notice after staying in some of the noisier spots closer to Wenceslas Square.

Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that awkward hovering while they “prepare your experience” or whatever. The staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood well, which sounds basic but isn’t always the case. They pointed me toward this tiny wine bar about three doors down that I never would have found otherwise, and suggested the best time to walk up to the Castle (early morning, before the tour groups descend). Parking can be a bit tricky on these narrow streets, but they’ll sort it out for you if you call ahead. The whole area gets pretty quiet after dinner, which some people might find sleepy, but honestly it’s perfect if you want to decompress from all the Prague intensity. That 8.8 rating feels about right – it’s not trying to be the flashiest place in the city, but it delivers on this specific charm that’s hard to replicate. Plus, there’s something satisfying about staying somewhere that feels authentically Prague rather than generically European luxury.

  The staff was very dedicated to my comfort. I loved the decor and the location is superb. The keg in the reception was a delight, even though I couldn't often partake due to work. The heating was. great, as was the hot water in the shower. The building was secure and safe. I'd love to stay here again!

  .Charming little hotel in a great location. Very clean room with a comfortable bed . Very quiet at night.
  I had the beer bath immediately after my arrival to Prague and it was very relaxing and rejuvenating after a long flight . Don't forget to book it!!! It's definitely a one of the kind experience!

  Amazing rooms. Seems like to sleep in a museum. Very spacy and comfortable. Air conditioning throughout the ventilation system was extremely valuable on the hot days of July 2023. Nice details in the room like the kettle from Rohnson in ceramic. Nice bath tube and beer shampoos. I recommend the beer spa in the basement, which is an amazing experience. Tubs out of wood with bubbles in nice decorated rooms and unlimited beer. The location is also quite good in the area of the castle. Very good breakfast!
  
  What could be improved: The first person we've met from the staff was really unfriendly and pissed off, that we'd arrived at 9:15 pm instead of 9 pm as announced. Every request was a burden for her. She was so unfriendly and probably so angry, that she forgot to switch off the music in the corridor. For this reason, we didn't sleep well the first night. The other ladies from the staff were really helpfully and friendly and exceeded our expectations. Some parts of the room had not been cleaned before arrival (table next to the beds), toilets and floor, which is quite unacceptable, when arriving at 9 pm in the evening. The breakfast starts at 9:30 am, which is way to late for a hotel!!
