Soukenicka Apartments Old Town Prague Overview

You know what hits you first when you walk into Soukenicka Apartments? It’s that perfect balance between old Prague charm and actually functioning like a modern place to stay. I mean, we’re talking about a building that’s probably seen more history than most museums, but somehow they’ve managed to keep all the character while making sure your Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes.

The location is honestly ridiculous – and I mean that in the best way. You’re right on Soukenická street, which sounds intimidating to pronounce but is basically this quiet little artery that connects you to everything without being one of those tourist-clogged main drags. Walk five minutes and you’re at Old Town Square (yeah, where the astronomical clock does its thing every hour), but here’s the kicker – you can actually sleep at night because you’re just far enough from the madness. The tram stops are close enough that you don’t need to Uber everywhere, which honestly saves you a fortune in a city where taxi drivers seem to think tourists are made of money.

What really gets me about this place is the attention to details that actually matter. The apartments – because these are proper apartments, not just hotel rooms with a mini-fridge – feel like someone’s stylish Prague grandmother decorated them, if grandmother had impeccable taste and understood that travelers need decent water pressure. The kitchens are functional enough that you can make real coffee in the morning (crucial when you’re dealing with Prague’s cobblestones and maybe one too many Pilsners the night before), and the beds are the kind where you actually want to hit snooze. I’ve stayed in plenty of five-star places that felt sterile, but these apartments have this lived-in elegance that makes you want to extend your stay. The staff clearly gets that travelers aren’t just checking boxes on an itinerary – they’re trying to feel like they belong somewhere, even temporarily. They’ll point you toward the good bread shop around the corner, not just the tourist restaurants. And parking? Well, it’s Prague’s Old Town, so don’t expect miracles, but they’ll give you actual useful advice about where to leave your car without getting a ticket or going broke on fees. That 9.3 rating isn’t just people being nice – it’s what happens when someone creates a place that works for real people, not just Instagram photos.

Prague hotels range from charming boutique properties in the historic Old Town Square to elegant castle-view hotels and modern accommodations near Wenceslas Square.

Reviews of Soukenicka Apartments Old Town Prague

  • Melanie from Germany – 18 December 2023 (10/10)

The apartment was very clean and comfortable. We felt like we were staying in a very high end hotel but with much more space and comfort! The building is very quiet. The hotel is just a few blocks away but the breakfast was well worth the small walk. The breakfast exceeded all our expectations!! We were a little warm in the evenings and called the front desk to help with the thermostat. They sent a handyman over right away, I was very impressed. I recommend this stay to everyone, you will not be disappointed.

    What could be improved: Nothing!

  • Hayden from United States – 2 January 2025 (9/10)

The apartment was fantastic with an incredible bathroom (I may copy for a future home remodel!), washer and dryer. The location is just outside old town…a short 5 minute walk, and convenient to the tram and subway. Breakfast outstanding though crowded.

What could be improved: Well worth the slight inconvenience and well documented in advance but having one location of the apartment, another for checking and another for breakfast could be confusing. But communications via booking were excellent and easy for us to navigate.

  • Lorraine from United Kingdom – 1 January 2025 (10/10)

All of it .. perfect for our stay. The separate bedroom from the kitchen/sofabed area was ideal as we are a family of 3 with a teen daughter. Bathroom is superb with an amazing shower. Beautifully presented, we felt very much at home.
The space was well planned and the decor modern.

What could be improved: Nothing to report at all.
