But after staying here on Plzeňská street, I actually get it. The owner clearly knows what digital nomads and business travelers actually care about, and they’re not trying to be fancy about it.

The location is pretty solid if you know Prague at all. You’re in Smíchov, which honestly feels more like where actual Czechs live rather than tourist central. There’s this great authentic vibe – you’ll hear trams rumbling by (but not annoyingly so), and there are these little neighborhood pubs and shops that most visitors never stumble across. The Anděl shopping center is basically a five-minute walk if you need anything, and getting into Old Town is straightforward on the metro, though I actually found myself hanging around the area more than I expected. The building itself sits on a tree-lined street that gets pretty quiet in the evenings, which was perfect for getting work done.

Now about that WiFi they’re bragging about in the name – okay, they weren’t lying. I was pulling down speeds that made my apartment back home look embarrassing, and I never had a single dropout during video calls. The AC actually works too, which you know what, isn’t always a given in Prague during those sticky summer months. The studio itself is compact but thoughtfully laid out – there’s a proper desk setup (not just some tiny round table), blackout curtains that actually block light, and the kitchenette has everything you’d realistically use. I appreciated little touches like having decent hangers and enough outlets near the bed. The bathroom’s small but functional, with good water pressure and it stays warm.

What really won me over was how quiet it gets at night despite being on a main street. The windows must be pretty well insulated because I barely heard traffic, just the occasional tram which honestly became sort of soothing. Check-in was smooth – they use one of those keypad systems, so no waiting around for someone to show up with keys. Parking can be tricky on Plzeňská itself, but there are spots on the side streets if you’re patient, and there’s a paid lot nearby if you’re not.

The 8.8 rating makes sense to me. It’s not luxury by any stretch, and if you’re expecting hotel services or daily housekeeping, this isn’t it. But for the price point and what it delivers – reliable internet, comfortable bed, functional space, good location – it hits the mark. I’d definitely book it again, especially for work trips. Just don’t expect much of a view; you’re looking at other buildings mostly, but honestly, who cares when you’ve got the whole city to explore just outside your door?
