Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the Small Luxury Palace Residence on Nerudova Street, I almost missed it. The entrance is pretty understated for a place with “palace” in the name, but that’s actually part of its charm. You’re literally staying on one of Prague’s most famous cobblestone streets, the same one tourists climb every day to reach the castle, except you get to duck inside while they’re still huffing up the hill with their cameras.

The thing about staying here is you’re right in the thick of Malá Strana (Lesser Town), which means you can walk to Prague Castle in about five minutes – I timed it – but you’re also dealing with the reality of being on a major tourist route. During the day, there’s definitely foot traffic outside, though honestly the old building’s thick walls keep most of the noise out. The rooms themselves have this interesting mix of historical details and modern touches that doesn’t feel forced… you know how some boutique hotels try too hard to be quirky? This isn’t that. The ceilings have original beams, and my bathroom had heated floors, which was absolutely clutch during my February visit when Prague was basically a frozen postcard.

What really sold me on this place was the staff’s local knowledge – they pointed me toward Petřín Hill for sunset (skip the tower, just find a bench) and recommended this tiny wine bar called Baráčnická Rychta that I never would’ve found otherwise. The breakfast situation is solid, nothing revolutionary, but they do this excellent coffee that actually tastes like coffee instead of hotel water. One heads up though – if you’re coming with big luggage, those historic stairs can be a workout. I mean, it adds to the authentic Prague experience, but your back might have opinions about it. The location more than makes up for any minor inconveniences… you can walk to Charles Bridge in ten minutes, hit up the Jewish Quarter in fifteen, and honestly, after a long day of sightseeing, there’s something pretty perfect about stumbling back to your own little slice of a 16th-century building. Just don’t expect modern hotel amenities like a fitness center – you’ll get your workout just exploring the neighborhood’s hills and staircases.

Apartments in Prague provide travelers with an authentic local experience, allowing them to shop at traditional markets and cook with fresh ingredients from the renowned Czech culinary traditions.

Reviews

  • Sharon from Australia – 15 July 2023 (9/10)

The atric room and its unique appearance and decor. Also the location.

What could be improved: The shower we had was too small for us- we are both 6 feet tall and due to the attic roof ot made it very difficult

  • Roman from United Kingdom – 27 March 2025 (7/10)

    Great location, spacious room

What could be improved: WiFi doesn’t work

  • Lucian from United Kingdom – 3 February 2025 (9/10)

Lovely period building in the heart of the city. All major attractions are in walking distance

What could be improved: Flat is wonderful but not very warm especially that outside was minus temperature. The 2 radiators are not enough to heat up such a big place.

  • Toby from United Kingdom – 4 January 2025 (8/10)

fantastic value for money and the room is huge. have to walk 30ft to get to the bath. superb location and some brilliant cafes and restaurants nearby. Really nice vibe from the place and lovely big spacious rooms.

What could be improved: 2 beds pushed together to make one large one. kept slipping down the middle. The wifi wasn’t great either

  • Adriana from United Kingdom – 27 December 2024 (7/10)

The location is excellent, close to the Old Town & Lesser square. The apartment was on the 3rd floor, extremely spacious!
Communication was fantastic, every message was answered promptly.
The bedding was beautiful, clean and ironed, a very warm and cosy place overall.

What could be improved: There was no TV remote which was a bit bizarre. I inquired about that but the response was that they had no idea of the remote being missing (it was as we searched everywhere, even behind the TV cabinet and drawers).
The upstairs window (apartment °7) wouldn't fully close, the upper half of it wouldn't properly seal to the frame therefore the noise from the street was highly noticeable at night (single glazed). Also could do with some blackout curtains, the light white curtains are a bit worn out.

  • Jaymee from Saudi Arabia – 25 December 2024 (9/10)

I like the whole family apartment. Location, completeness, and cleanliness.

What could be improved: Theres only 1 bathroom and its up the loft without lock and low ceiling. Cant stand up straight.

Wish they could build a lift too.

  • Seabrook from United States – 22 October 2024 (9/10)

Amazing value for an ENORMOUS comfortable space.

What could be improved: I don't like having to check in with my cell phone and upload sensitive documents like my passport to an unknown site.

  • Silvia from Slovakia – 22 October 2024 (9/10)

    Great and quite quiet location.
There is comfy bed in the room, around the appartment there is many restaurants and the bars… The tram stop is approx 4 min by walk to get to the other parts of the Prague.
Not more than 10 min by walk to Charles bridge.

What could be improved: It wasn’t so luxury like it has in its name or impression from the photos.
We would appreciate the sensor light as the room nr.8 was in the highest floor, we had to go through dark stip stairs…
It is written that the room has 50m2 but really it is much less, a part of it is a corridor which can be use only for levaing the jackets.

  • Rick_martin from United Kingdom – 14 October 2024 (8/10)

The attic room is quaint, full of character, and is just like the pictures. Note that that includes the low ceilings, but the wooden beams add a real charm.

What could be improved: It could use better handrails on the stairs, especially the last one.

  • Graham from New Zealand – 17 September 2024 (8/10)

Location excellent. Beautiful old building. Quiet.

What could be improved: Wifi awful
