Sir Toby’s Midtown Overview

You know what? Sir Toby’s Midtown totally caught me off guard – in the best way possible. I’ll be honest, when I first pulled up to Dalimilova 10, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. The building has this understated charm though, sort of tucked away in a quieter part of Prague’s New Town where you’re not dodging tour groups every five minutes.

The thing about this spot is it actually gets the balance right between being central and being livable. You’re maybe a 15-minute walk to Wenceslas Square, but you’re on this tree-lined street where locals are just going about their business – grabbing coffee, walking their dogs, that kind of thing. There’s a decent tram stop practically around the corner (honestly saved me so much walking), and I mean, you can hit the main sights without that exhausting tourist-trap feeling. The rooms themselves are bigger than I expected – I had space to actually unpack, which never happens in European city hotels. Nothing fancy, but the beds are surprisingly comfortable and the bathrooms are properly updated. The staff here really knows their stuff too; the guy at reception gave me this whole rundown of which restaurants in the neighborhood were worth it versus which ones were just tourist traps.

What really won me over was how the place feels during different parts of the day. Mornings are pretty quiet – you’ll hear some tram noise but it’s not jarring, more like gentle city background sound. Evenings get a bit livelier since there are some local pubs within a block or two, but it never felt rowdy or unsafe walking back after dinner. The breakfast situation is solid without being extraordinary – proper Czech pastries and decent coffee, plus they actually have real options for people with dietary restrictions. I appreciated that they didn’t try to oversell themselves, you know? It’s clean, it’s comfortable, the location works, and the price makes sense. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need, especially in a city like Prague where you’re spending most of your time wandering around anyway. Plus at an 8.2 rating, clearly other people are figuring this out too – I’d definitely stay here again.

  • Super comfortable bed and nice room for the price. – Karl from Estonia – 24 May 2025 (8/10)

Bed was very comfortable, room was clean.
    Positives outweigh the negatives

What could be improved: The door to access my room was very hard to close, it took a lot of force for it to close and made a lot of noise (probably only in my dorm).
Lockers under the bed didnt fit my 65l backpack and staff couldn't store it with them.
Curtains for the lower bed were a little short (would've preferred for it to go until the ladder).
