Self-service Hotel Ostaš Praha Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Self-service Hotel Ostaš Praha, you immediately get what the name suggests — this isn’t your typical full-service hotel experience, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it work. The lobby feels refreshingly straightforward, without any pretense or unnecessary frills. You check yourself in using their streamlined system, grab your key, and you’re set. It’s the kind of place that respects your independence while still giving you everything you actually need for a solid stay in Prague.
The Neighborhood Advantage
Here’s what I really appreciate about this three-star spot — the location on Orebitská street puts you in one of Prague’s genuinely well-connected areas without the tourist chaos. You’re close enough to reach the historic center easily, but far enough out that you’ll actually sleep well at night. The neighborhood has that authentic Prague residential feel, with local cafés and shops that give you a real sense of the city. I mean, there’s a reason couples consistently rate this location so highly — it strikes that perfect balance between accessibility and tranquility.
Your Room Setup
The room design embraces the self-service concept beautifully. Everything you need is there, laid out logically and maintained well. The beds are genuinely comfortable — not just “decent for the price” but actually good. What struck me most was how thoughtfully organized everything felt; you can tell they’ve really considered what travelers actually use versus what hotels traditionally stuff into rooms. The bathrooms are modern and spotless, with reliable hot water and good water pressure (trust me, these details matter after long days exploring Prague’s cobblestone streets).
Morning Fuel
The breakfast setup continues that self-service theme, offering both continental and buffet options that actually deliver on quality. You know what I love about it? They don’t try to overwhelm you with fifty mediocre choices. Instead, you get solid basics done well — fresh bread, good coffee, quality meats and cheeses, plus some local touches that remind you where you are. The breakfast area gets good natural light, making it a pleasant way to ease into your Prague adventures. It’s the kind of morning meal that leaves you satisfied without feeling rushed or underwhelmed.
Why Guests Love It
This hotel succeeds because it understands modern travelers — we want efficiency, cleanliness, and value without paying for services we don’t actually use. The self-service approach means you’re not dealing with unnecessary interactions when you just want to drop your bags and explore the city. The staff, when you do need them, are genuinely helpful and know their neighborhood well. Plus, that 8.8 location rating isn’t just numbers — it reflects how easy this place makes your Prague experience. You’ll spend less time figuring out logistics and more time enjoying one of Europe’s most beautiful cities.
The concierge service in Prague can arrange exclusive tours of Prague Castle, secure reservations at traditional beer halls, and organize personalized visits to Charles Bridge and the UNESCO World Heritage historic center.

Breakfast was really delicious – plenty of options for everyone. Room was very spacious and beds were comfortable. Bathroom was clean and spacious also. Staff were so welcoming and friendly also.
What could be improved: Didn't find any issues.Exceptional – Nataliia from Ukraine – 25 July 2025 (10/10)
The hotel and the room correspond to the description. The price-quality ratio is excellent! The hotel is clean, the breakfast is good (there is everything you need, including fruit). The hotel is located on a quiet street, you can sleep with the windows open, you can walk to the center, the bus stop is 3 minutes away, the tram is 7 minutes away. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Great! Would come back here again. – Anke from United Kingdom – 23 July 2025 (10/10)
Was looking for something reasonable outside of the overpriced Old Town and found this. Perfect for our family holiday. Extremely comfy beds and good breakfast. Tram is just a few walking minutes away and the Old Town can be reached within less than 10 minutes. It's just as easy to walk to the Old Town once you get past the Main Train Station.
Perfect stay! – Mariia from Ukraine – 16 July 2025 (10/10)
Super clean, nice location, at night it was really quiet. Especially want to highlight amazing staff, everyone is friendly. Also room was spacious and even had a small hall, which we could close. Would definitely come back 🙂
What could be improved: The only thing – a bit bad ventilation in the bathroom, but it wasn’t very critical.Excellent – Antra from Latvia – 5 July 2025 (10/10)
Everything was very clean cozy, great value for money, good location, very helpful and friendly stuff. Definitely recommend
What could be improved: NothingLovely Staff – Narcis from Romania – 25 June 2025 (9/10)
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist us with anything. The hotel was generally clean. It was well-maintained, which made our stay very comfortable. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a welcoming place to stay!
What could be improved: The breafast was very tasty, but unfortunately the kitchen seemed understaffed. Food was not replenished quickly — if you didn’t come in the first half hour, you often missed out on things like pancakes. Also, most of the meat options were pork-based; it would have been great to have chicken alternatives.
Room cleanliness could improve a little bit, some areas were a dustyGreat for short stay – Melissa from United States – 23 June 2025 (8/10)
The hostess was very friendly and informative. The room was very clean and comfortable and the included breakfast was hearty.
What could be improved: The room was quite small. Fine for one or 2 nights but would be cramped after that.Happy – Omar from Mexico – 19 June 2025 (10/10)
The location and the staff
Good value in – Ian from United Kingdom – 17 June 2025 (9/10)
Good location and helpful responsive communication before my trip when flight was changed meaning late arrival. The PIN code check in process was great. Room was perfect for a solo traveller and breakfast was good. Location is excellent, everything with walking distance, and some good places to east within a few mins from hotel.
What could be improved: Everything was fineExceptional – Shufeng from Taiwan – 14 June 2025 (10/10)
The breakfast is excellent and the location is also good to take trams for everywhere.
