Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about the Rose Ruterra Suite? Walking up to this place on Ve Smečkách, you’re basically in the heart of everything without realizing it. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from Wenceslas Square, but the street itself has this quieter residential vibe that honestly surprised me. The building looks like typical Prague architecture from the outside – nothing too flashy – but step inside and there’s this immediate sense that someone actually put thought into the design.

The suites themselves are spacious in a way that’s becoming rare in Prague’s city center. I’m talking about rooms where you can actually open your suitcase without having to close the bathroom door first. The décor walks this nice line between modern comfort and acknowledging you’re in a historic city – no fake medieval nonsense, but they haven’t stripped away all the character either. What really got me was the attention to small details: proper blackout curtains (trust me, this matters when those summer sunrises hit at 5 AM), and the kind of shower pressure that makes you want to extend your stay just for the morning routine. The kitchenette setup is actually functional too, not just for show – I ended up grabbing fresh bread from the bakery around the corner more than once.

Location-wise, you’re perfectly positioned for both the touristy stuff and the real Prague. Národní třída is right there, which means you can walk to the National Theatre in about eight minutes, but you’re also close enough to pop over to Vinohrady when you want to eat where locals actually go. The 7.8 rating feels about right – it’s solidly good without being perfect. Check-in was smooth, the staff actually knew the neighborhood well enough to give useful recommendations, and honestly, the only minor complaint I’d have is that the WiFi got a bit spotty during busy evening hours. But for a four-star place in this part of Prague, especially considering you get proper suite space and you’re not dealing with the crowds that stay right on the Old Town Square, the Rose Ruterra delivers on what it promises. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying in Prague, not just visiting it.

Reviews

  • Muhsen from Germany – 24 May 2023 (9/10)

It was perfect location . We could go easily to city center by foot

    What could be improved: Nothing
    Everything was good

  • Ben from United Kingdom – 12 June 2024 (8/10)

Great location, right in the centre of Prague. Ideal for young groups who are looking for great value for money. Staff were helpful and fixed an issue with the boiler that was left by previous visitors. They sorted us out with a different apartment for the night (which was just across the road) until this was fixed. Main areas of Prague are a nice walking distance away, and a 24 hour store is on the same street.

What could be improved: Lack of sockets next to beds

  • Swapnil__traveller from Denmark – 1 May 2023 (8/10)

    Prime location

What could be improved: Kitchen is not well equipped. Basic things like knives, pots, extra dustbin plastic were missing.

  • Aleksandra from Poland – 13 March 2023 (8/10)

    Great location and clean.

What could be improved: facilities mention that there is parking available which there is not. When I was looking for places to stay in Prague, I only filtered the ones that included parking, and I was quite confused when, I found out that we need to look for a different parking option. We had to rent out parking garage.

  • Mariam from Georgia – 25 November 2023 (9/10)

Good location and everything was ready for us. Dishwasher, washing machine, dishwashing fluids, and capsules. New sponge for dishes etc…

What could be improved: There was no privacy from each other due to rooms being separated by a door and being next to each other. Towels weren't nearly enough for an 8-day stay. Toilet paper was not enough for an 8-day stay. The shower cabin was damaged and didn't look appealing, it always looked dirty, its doors weren't closing properly so the water was getting out, and the draining system was bad so the water wasn't going through the pipe quickly enough and we had to stand there in dirty water. We could contact hosts only through cell phone or booking, no WhatsApp, Viber, or anything else which is not very convenient for tourists who usually don't get local numbers. It is also inconvenient that we had to go to the office first and pick up the keys from the lock box and then go to the property, why couldn't the hosts just place the lock box at the property? We had to drag our baggage for 25-30 minutes in total on the paving stone uphill…

  • Carem from Philippines – 12 November 2023 (8/10)

It was located really close to the attractions and just 300m away from Primark.

What could be improved: The shower enclosure needs to be fixed. The shower bar also needs some fixing. The space is not that clean ohiess because it’s an old bldg. But the great location compensates for the issues.

  • Tracey from United Kingdom – 19 October 2023 (7/10)

    The location was good

What could be improved: Was a bit dated . Couldn’t make breakfast because toaster never worked.

  • Dejan from Serbia – 19 September 2023 (9/10)

    It location

  • Jyoti from United Kingdom – 4 April 2023 (7/10)

Warm, safe, central, spacious, comfortable beds.

What could be improved: Toilet seat broken, shower blocked and didn’t drain effectively. Lack of power points in bedrooms. Room number on key and map different to the number on the door .

  • Edona from Czech Republic – 19 June 2024 (9/10)

    Great location, comfortable beds

What could be improved: The smell of humidity was a bit unpleasant at the beginning
