Check-in was smooth (the staff actually speak excellent English, which… well, you’ll appreciate that). Location-wise, you’re in this sweet spot that most tourists miss. Kampa Island is right there for your morning walk, and you can reach Old Town in about fifteen minutes on foot along the river path. But here’s the insider bit – you’re actually closer to some of Prague’s best restaurants than if you stayed in the touristy center. Lokál Dlouhááá is a quick tram ride away (seriously, get the pork knee), and there’s this little wine bar called Vinograf just up the hill that locals guard like a state secret. The Anděl metro station is maybe a ten-minute walk, which connects you to everything else you’ll want to see.

I’ll be honest – the rooms aren’t huge, but they’re thoughtfully designed. The beds are actually comfortable (not always a given in European hotels), and the bathrooms have proper water pressure. Small details matter when you’re jet-lagged, you know? There’s decent soundproofing too, though you might catch some tram noise if you’re a really light sleeper. The Wi-Fi works everywhere, which is more than I can say for some five-star places I’ve stayed.

What impressed me most was how the place feels connected to Prague without being overwhelmed by it. You’re not fighting crowds of tourists every time you step outside, but you’re not stranded in some sterile business district either. The riverfront here has this lived-in quality – families feeding ducks, couples sharing park benches, that sort of thing. It’s Prague as people actually live it, not just the postcard version.
