Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to River Dance Suites – the building looks pretty unassuming from Resslova Street. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t need to show off from the outside. The moment you step into the lobby, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cares about the details here. The staff remembered my name after one interaction (which, let’s be real, almost never happens), and the whole check-in process was refreshingly smooth.

What really got me though was the location – I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Vltava riverfront, and if you’re into that whole Prague Castle thing (and who isn’t?), you can see it perfectly from most of the upper floor suites. The rooms themselves are… well, they’re what you’d expect from a proper 5-star place, but with this subtle Czech touch that doesn’t feel forced or touristy. The beds are ridiculously comfortable – I’m talking about that perfect firmness where you sink in just enough – and the bathrooms have these rainfall showers that actually have decent water pressure. Side note: the toiletries smell incredible, sort of like cedar and bergamot.

Here’s something most people don’t mention about this area – Resslova can get a bit busy during morning rush hour since it connects to the main business district, but by 9 AM it’s quiet again. The hotel’s soundproofing is solid though, so even the street-facing rooms stay peaceful. I actually loved being able to walk to Wenceslas Square in about ten minutes, or duck into one of those tiny pubs on Jindřišská Street that tourists never find. The concierge (Pavel, I think?) knows his stuff too – he steered me away from the obvious dinner spots and recommended this incredible little place serving modern Czech cuisine that I never would have discovered otherwise. Look, with a 9.2 rating, you’re probably expecting it to be good, and it absolutely delivers on that promise. But what makes River Dance Suites worth booking isn’t just the luxury stuff – it’s that they’ve managed to create this perfect balance between high-end comfort and genuine Prague character, right in the heart of everything without feeling like you’re stuck in a tourist bubble.
