Think clean lines, warm wood tones, and those satisfying details that make you want to touch everything (the door handles alone are pretty fantastic). What really sold me though was how quiet it gets at night. I mean, you’re still in Prague, so there’s the occasional tram rumbling by, but compared to staying near Old Town Square? It’s like a different planet. The apartments themselves feel properly lived-in rather than sterile – there’s actual character here, not just Instagram-ready staging.

Here’s the thing about the location that took me a day to fully appreciate: you’re about a 15-minute tram ride from the city center, but you’ve got this whole neighborhood to explore that most tourists never see. There’s this little bakery two blocks down that does these incredible koláče in the morning, and honestly, the coffee scene around here puts the touristy spots to shame. The tram connections are actually brilliant once you figure them out – line 6 gets you pretty much anywhere you need to go, and the stop is maybe a three-minute walk. Parking was surprisingly painless too, which if you’ve ever tried to park in central Prague, you’ll know is basically a miracle.

The check-in process was refreshingly human – none of that awkward key-card-in-an-envelope situation. The host actually knew the area and gave me better restaurant recommendations than any guidebook I’ve read. And look, it’s a 3-star place, so don’t expect a concierge or room service, but everything works properly and the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes like some places I could mention. The kitchenette is actually functional if you want to grab groceries from the Tesco down the street, though honestly, with all the good eating options nearby, I barely used it except for morning coffee.

What really struck me was how the place manages to feel both properly Czech and completely comfortable for travelers – you’re not drowning in over-the-top “local flavor,” but you’re also not in some generic international hotel box. The 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there a couple days. It’s one of those places where the small things are done right, and you end up having a better time than you expected, which is honestly the best kind of travel surprise.

  I když je ubytování u čtyřpruhé silnice, je to vcelku klidná ulice. Strana do dvora připomíná vlastně park. Byt je plně vybaven. Na zastávku metra Budějovická je to asi 400 m. Zde je plná vybavenost včetně pekárny, supermarketu, hospody.

  Majiteľ bol ústretový a starostlivý. Apartmán je blízko metra a v kľudnej časti. Cena bola Ok vzhľadom na sezónu vianočných trhov.
  
  What could be improved: Fotky nezodpovedajú realite. Ak však niekto chce zažiť naozajstné retro, tak kľudne do toho. Ocitli sme sa ako v byte po babičke, kde by si podlaha, steny, kúpeľňa zaslúžili viac starostlivosti a aspoň občasnú údržbu. Apartmán bol čistý, ale predsa len, keď steny majú popraskané omietky, maľované boli ešte asi v minulom storočí, podlaha je tam tiež od prvopočiatku, tak to ten dojem pokazí.

  Bardzo blisko metra (stacja Budejovicka, linia czerwona C) – ok. 5 minut piechotą. Apartament dobrze wyposażony – garnki, sztućce, nożyczki, lodwóka, pralka, mikrofalówka, przyprawy, kawa, herbata, worki na smieci, kapcie, środki czystości itp. Można było przyjechać "na lekko" i nie myśleć o kupowaniu tego typu rzeczy
  
  What could be improved: Toaleta i łazienka wymagałyby remontu (było czysto, ale jednak kibel retro-górnopłuk i mocno podniszczona wanna to nie jest szczyt marzeń – te rzeczy nie musza koniecznie być retro. 🙂 ) Przydałby się jakis odświeżacz powietrza w ubikacji. Dobrze byłoby jakoś przykleić dywan w salonie, żeby nie "jeździł" – kilka razy omal się nie wywróciłam, pojechawszy z dywanem po podłodze, kiedy szłam nieco szybciej.
