Retro Apartment Praha Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Retro Apartment Praha on Budějovická street, you immediately get that this isn’t your typical hotel experience. It’s actually more like staying in a friend’s stylish apartment — if your friend happened to have impeccable taste in mid-century design. The building itself has that solid, understated Czech architecture you see throughout Prague, but once you step inside, the retro aesthetic really comes alive with carefully chosen vintage pieces and warm lighting.

The Space

What struck me most about my room was how thoughtfully everything was arranged. The four-star rating makes perfect sense when you see the attention to detail — from the original hardwood floors to the period furniture that actually looks lived-in rather than museum-perfect. You know what I really appreciated? The kitchenette setup, which honestly saved me quite a bit of money during my stay. It’s not huge, but it’s got everything you need if you want to grab some fresh bread from the local bakery and make your own breakfast.

Location Perks

Here’s where this place really shines — and I mean, guests have rated the location 9.4 out of 10, which is pretty remarkable. You’re in a residential neighborhood that feels authentically Prague, not touristy at all, but you can still get to the city center in about 15 minutes by metro. The Budějovická metro station is literally a few minutes’ walk away. I actually ended up exploring this area quite a bit because there are some great local pubs and cafés that you’d never find in the guidebooks.

Daily Life

The mornings here have this lovely, unhurried feel to them. There’s no bustling hotel lobby or crowded breakfast buffet — instead, you wake up in what feels like your own Prague flat and decide how you want to start your day. I often walked to the nearby Tesco for groceries, or sometimes just grabbed coffee from the little café around the corner. The parking situation is actually quite manageable if you’re driving, which isn’t something you can say about most places in Prague. The neighborhood has that perfect balance where it’s quiet enough to sleep well but lively enough that you don’t feel isolated.

Why Guests Love It

I can see why couples rate this place so highly — there’s something genuinely romantic about having your own little Prague hideaway rather than just another hotel room. The space feels intimate without being cramped, and you get that sense of actually living in the city for a few days. Plus, honestly, the value is excellent for what you’re getting. You’re paying for a unique experience in a top-rated location, but you’re not dealing with the inflated prices you’d find in the tourist zones. It’s the kind of place where you might find yourself planning your next Prague trip before you’ve even checked out.

Reviews of Retro Apartment Praha

  • Exceptional – Vita from Denmark – 22 July 2025 (10/10)

  • Příjemné místo s metrem v dosahu. – Mojmír from Czech Republic – 19 June 2025 (9/10)

I když je ubytování u čtyřpruhé silnice, je to vcelku klidná ulice. Strana do dvora připomíná vlastně park. Byt je plně vybaven. Na zastávku metra Budějovická je to asi 400 m. Zde je plná vybavenost včetně pekárny, supermarketu, hospody.

  • Exceptional – Razvan from Denmark – 27 May 2025 (10/10)

  • Bardzo udany wyjazd. – Anonymous from Poland – 20 May 2025 (8/10)

  • Superb – Vladimír from Slovakia – 20 January 2025 (9/10)

  • Exceptional – Daisy from Brazil – 20 January 2025 (10/10)

  • Exceptional – Natalia from Poland – 18 December 2024 (10/10)

Wszystko super. Właściciel bardzo miły i pomocny, warunki idealne.

  • Majiteľ je super pán, avšak to nestačí. Stav apartmánu je viac ako retro. – Roman from Slovakia – 12 December 2024 (5/10)

What could be improved: Fotky nezodpovedajú realite.

  • Exceptional – Vladimíra from Czech Republic – 29 September 2024 (10/10)

  • Udany pobyt – Dariusz from Poland – 26 July 2024 (9/10)
