Residence Řipská 26

Capital City of Prague, Czechia
26 Řipská, Prague, 130 00, Czech Republic

Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Residence Řipská 26, you immediately get the feeling this isn’t your typical tourist hotel. It’s tucked into a quiet residential street in Prague, and honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. The building has that classic Central European charm — you know, the kind where you feel like you’re staying in someone’s beautifully renovated townhouse rather than a generic hotel chain. This four-star property doesn’t scream for attention, but once you’re inside, you realize that’s precisely the point.

The Neighborhood Advantage

Here’s what I love about this location — you’re actually living like a local for a few days. The area around Řipská street is residential enough that you’ll see people walking their dogs and heading to work, but you’re still incredibly well-connected to everything that matters in Prague. I mean, couples consistently rate this location a 9.1, and after spending time here, I totally get why. You can walk to trams and metro stations without the chaos of being right in the tourist center, plus there are genuine Czech pubs and cafes nearby where you won’t pay inflated prices.

The Living Space

The room setup here is what really sets this place apart — these are proper apartment-style accommodations with a kitchenette that’s actually functional. I’m talking about a space where you can brew proper coffee in the morning or store leftovers from that amazing goulash you couldn’t finish last night. The furnishings feel contemporary but warm, and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase. The windows are well-insulated too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to sleep off jet lag.

Practical Comforts

What impressed me most was how they’ve thought through the details that matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than just a night or two. The Wi-Fi actually works reliably (crucial if you’re trying to navigate Prague’s winding streets), and the building is quiet enough that you’re not hearing every conversation in the hallway. The staff knows the neighborhood well — they’ll point you toward the good bakery around the corner or tell you which tram gets you to Old Town fastest during rush hour.

Why Guests Love It

This place works because it strikes that perfect balance between independence and service. You get the privacy and space of having your own apartment, but with the reliability and daily housekeeping of a hotel. For couples especially, there’s something really appealing about having a home base that feels authentic to Prague rather than like a tourist bubble. The location score of 9.1 isn’t just a number — it reflects how this spot lets you experience the city from a local perspective while still being incredibly accessible to all the must-see sights. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself planning your next Prague trip before you’ve even checked out.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Prague at least two months ahead of their visit to ensure availability and secure better rates, especially during the peak summer season when the city hosts numerous cultural festivals and outdoor concerts.

Decent accommodation but would avoid it it possible.

The location was good. Close to train and trams and in a nice neighborhood.
The check in process was smooth.
Clean room/building and clean bathroom.

What could be improved: The staff promised to help if needed but when we needed help they responded many hours later. When we needed help because we couldn’t access our keys on the second day, we called and they were quite rude on the phone and not responsive by text.
Limited storage space in the room.

Okay price for what you get. It was clean, smelled great and the location is really really nice. Hosts are very hepful!

Very clean and smelled amazing. Location is awesome, much to do in the surrounding area and by metro and tram you can get to the city centre in about 20min.

What could be improved: Even though it’s a double bed, it is actually two separate mattresses for one that are next to each other. Not really suitable for couples and not that comfortable. But other than that, everything else was great.
