Residence Hattrick Overview

Honestly, when I first pulled up to Residence Hattrick on Záběhlická street, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place tucked away in Prague’s Vinohrady district. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries happen when you’re not trying too hard to impress anyone.

The building itself has this understated charm – it’s one of those converted residential buildings that actually feels like, well, a residence. Which makes sense given the name, I guess. The lobby’s compact but welcoming, and the staff at check-in were genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions. What really struck me was how quiet it gets once you’re inside, even though you’re still technically in the city. Záběhlická isn’t one of those tourist-heavy streets where you’re dodging selfie sticks every five minutes, but it’s not exactly remote either. You’ve got decent tram connections – the 22 and 23 lines aren’t far – and I mean, you can walk to the main sights if you’re feeling ambitious, though honestly most people will probably hop on public transport.

The rooms are where this place really delivers on that 8.5 rating. They’re not massive, but they’re thoughtfully laid out in a way that makes the space work harder than it should. Good natural light, which is huge for me, and the beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses after too many nights on hotel torture devices). The kitchenette situation is pretty practical too – nothing fancy, but if you want to grab groceries from the Tesco down the street and make breakfast, you’re all set. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this neighborhood, so definitely ask about that when you book if you’re driving. The area gets busy during the day but settles down nicely in the evenings, though you might catch some tram noise occasionally – nothing that would keep you awake unless you’re an incredibly light sleeper.

What I really appreciated was how the place feels more like staying in someone’s well-maintained apartment building rather than a generic hotel. The common areas have this lived-in quality without being shabby, and there’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t try to be something it’s not. You’re getting solid value here – clean, comfortable, reasonably priced, with staff who seem to actually care about whether you have a good stay. It’s the kind of spot where business travelers and tourists mix without anyone feeling out of place. If you’re looking for marble lobbies and concierge services, look elsewhere. But if you want a reliable base that won’t eat your entire travel budget while still giving you easy access to Prague’s highlights, Residence Hattrick gets the job done really well.

To book a hotel in Prague during the famous Easter Market season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts history enthusiasts and architecture lovers from around the world.

Reviews of Residence Hattrick

  • Very pleasant stay with fantastic breakfast and convenient location – Jakub from Poland – 3 June 2025 (10/10)

The room was clean, spacious and interestingly furnished, all the amenities were provided. The check-in and check-out was convenient, the staff was nice and the breakfast was great – with a wide plethora of breads and toppings, teas, milk and cornflakes and even yoghurt. The location is really well connected with the historical centre of Prague. It’s quiet and pleasant.

What could be improved: Towels weren’t changed during a three-night stay, but it might have been stated somewhere and i might’ve missed it. Be sure not to throw them on the ground (despite a sticker that says to do so if you want them changed). Not a huge issue.

  • Exceptional – Diana from Romania – 28 April 2025 (10/10)

Everything was great thus we have already booked another week in June. The instructions provided for the self check in were absolutely great- we followed every step and we accessed the apartment without any issue, big thank you for this:) The apartment was very clean. It is very close to the city center.: 20 min away using public transportation. I look forward to coming back in June! Thank you for making our stay a very pleasant one!

  • Warm friendly atmosphere, excellent location, great place to stay for a visit to Prague! – Andreas from Germany – 27 October 2023 (10/10)

The whole Pension Hattrick and the rooms are really nicely decorated with alot of care and originality. The hostess is really friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean and we found the standard very good. We were impressed, that we did not just have a room, but it was like a little appartment with a hallway, separate bathroom, and a kitchenette in the room with a fridge, a stove to cook, and a kitchen sink besides the water cooker. There were also some plates and cutlery and basic kitchen utenils. Breakfast was plentiful and good. The The location is really quiet and the neighborhood feels friendly. We were able to park our car on the premises off the street, which was a great plus. You can get to the city center within 20 minutes by tram, bus and metro, connection is good. We were impressed with the public transportation app of the city of Prague and would recommend using that. We would definitely book Pension Hattrick again for our next trip to Prague! Highly recommed.

What could be improved: Can't really say we did not like something.

Everything was so good that we will with love to come back again! Beautiful, stylishly decorated rooms, extremely clean and comfortable. Excellent breakfast, parking and extremely friendly boss Iva…

What could be improved: If something is not right, we talk to each other and solve every situation without any problem.
