Honestly, I was skeptical about the 4-star rating at first — you see a lot of Prague hotels stretching their star count — but this place actually earns it. The rooms have this interesting mix of old-world touches (think exposed beams, the kind you can’t fake) with modern stuff that actually works. And I’m talking about things like the shower pressure and Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every time someone in the next room starts streaming Netflix. The beds are proper comfortable too, which matters more than people admit when you’re doing those 15,000-step Prague walking days.

What really sold me though was the location intelligence, if that makes sense. You’re a three-minute walk from the Powder Tower, but more importantly, you’re right near that cluster of amazing local spots that most tourists miss entirely. There’s this little bakery on the corner — I never caught the name but they do these incredible koláče in the mornings — and you’re close enough to Pařížská street for the fancy shopping but far enough away that you’re not drowning in tour groups. The Old Town Square is obviously right there (honestly, maybe a five-minute stroll), but here’s the thing nobody tells you: you can actually walk home at night without fighting through the crowds because Dlouhá has this slightly different vibe after dark. More locals, fewer drunk bachelor parties, you know?

The staff here gets it too — they’re not overly chatty but they know their stuff about getting around the city. When I asked about tram connections, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a tourist map, he actually explained which stops to use depending on time of day and crowds. That kind of local knowledge makes a difference when you’re trying to get to Vinohrady for dinner or catch an early train from Hlavní nádraží.

I’ll be honest, it’s not perfect — the street can get a bit noisy on weekend nights (Prague’s nightlife is no joke), and if you’re expecting a big hotel lobby scene, this is more intimate than that. But that 8.7 rating feels right to me. It’s the kind of place that just works, where you stop thinking about the hotel logistics and start focusing on Prague itself. And in a city this beautiful, that’s exactly what you want.
