Residence Corto Old Town

Capital City of Prague, Czechia
Havelská 15, Prague, 110 00, Czech Republic

Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to Residence Corto Old Town on Havelská Street, you immediately know you’ve found something special. This three-star property sits right in the heart of Prague’s Old Town, and I mean literally — you’re surrounded by medieval streets that tourists spend hours trying to find. The building itself has that classic Prague charm, with its historic facade blending seamlessly into one of the city’s most atmospheric neighborhoods.

Location Magic

Honestly, the location here is pretty incredible. You’re about a three-minute walk from the famous Astronomical Clock — I actually timed it because I was curious. Wenceslas Square is right there too, and you can easily stroll to Charles Bridge without breaking a sweat. What I really appreciated was being able to duck back to the hotel between sightseeing sessions, which you know becomes essential when you’re doing the full Prague tourist circuit. The narrow cobblestone streets around Havelská feel authentically medieval, but you’re never more than a few steps from a great restaurant or café.

The Accommodations

My room was compact but thoughtfully designed — exactly what you’d expect from a well-run residence in this part of the city. The space felt clean and comfortable, with enough storage for a week’s worth of clothes and that essential suitcase real estate. The windows looked out onto the historic street below, and I actually enjoyed the gentle sounds of people exploring the neighborhood. The bathroom was modern and functional, which honestly matters more than fancy amenities when you’re spending most of your time out exploring.

Daily Life at the Residence

What struck me most was how the place operates more like a small residence than a traditional hotel — there’s a personal touch that you don’t always get with bigger properties. The staff genuinely seemed to know the neighborhood well, and they gave me some solid recommendations for local spots that weren’t overrun with tour groups. Parking in Old Town Prague can be a nightmare, but they helped sort that out too, which saved me considerable stress. The building stays quiet in the evenings, which I appreciated after long days of sightseeing.

Why Guests Love It

I can see why couples rate this place so highly — there’s something romantic about staying in the actual heart of historic Prague rather than in some modern district. You’re living temporarily in one of Europe’s most beautiful cities, not just visiting it. The combination of authentic location, reasonable pricing for what you get, and that personal touch makes it work really well. Sure, it’s not going to wow you with elaborate amenities, but when you can walk to Prague Castle, the Jewish Quarter, and all the major sights within minutes, you realize the location itself is the main attraction. For travelers who want to experience Prague rather than just see it, this residence delivers exactly what matters most.

Location great, character building, just needs a few extra touches.

Location and cleanliness

What could be improved: It could do with some minor finishing touches, ie nowhere to hang the bath towels and could do with a bedside table rather than a stool on one side of the bed. As there is no air conditioning it could do with a fan in the room as noisy to leave the window open at night.

Very good

The location was excellent, next to every attraction and easy to reach on foot. The girl in the reception was very helpful and really willing us with everything needed. We had clean towels every day and generally the room was very clean!

What could be improved: As the hotel is located in the old town despite the renovations made still has some old appartment characteristics, like there is no sound isolation, resulting not only listening to people talking from outside the room but the floors shaking everytime someone outside the room made a sudden move. Also the water in the shower changed temperature out of nowhere while the water was running.

Ideal location

Location is amazing. Spacious room. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff. 10% discount in local restaurant for breakfast

What could be improved: TV sometimes wasn’t worked. A bit warm in the room. No hooks in bathrooms.
