Residence BENE Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Residence BENE? It’s actually tucked away on Dlouhá Street in a way that makes you feel like you stumbled onto something the tour groups haven’t discovered yet. I mean, Dlouhá is right in the thick of Old Town, but this particular stretch – around number 48 – has this quieter, more residential vibe that’s honestly refreshing after walking through the tourist chaos near the Astronomical Clock.
The building itself has that understated Prague charm – you’re not getting some flashy renovation here, but rather something that feels authentically local. The 8.6 rating makes total sense once you’re inside, because while it’s officially a 3-star place, they’re clearly doing the important stuff right. Check-in was smooth (always a relief when you’re dragging luggage over those cobblestones), and the staff actually knew the neighborhood well enough to give proper directions, not just generic tourist suggestions. The rooms have this lived-in comfort that I really appreciated – clean and functional without trying too hard to be Instagram-perfect. What I loved most was how quiet it gets at night, which is sort of miraculous considering you’re basically in the heart of everything.
Here’s the thing about the location that really won me over – you can walk to Wenceslas Square in about ten minutes, but you’re also a stone’s throw from some of the better local spots that don’t show up in every guidebook. There’s this great little café around the corner that opens early (perfect for jet lag recovery), and honestly, just wandering down Dlouhá toward the river in the evening became my favorite part of staying there. The street has enough foot traffic during the day to feel safe and lively, but it’s not the kind of place where you’re dodging stag parties at 2 AM – though you’ll definitely hear some distant revelry from the busier areas, which actually adds to the atmosphere rather than disrupting it. Parking is pretty much what you’d expect for central Prague (challenging), but the nearest tram stops make getting around incredibly easy. I actually ended up walking most places because everything felt so accessible. It’s one of those places where the “3-star” designation feels more like humility than accuracy – you’re getting solid value and a genuine Prague experience without paying premium prices for a fancy lobby you’ll barely use.

Room was big and clean, with a lot of space. Breakfast has a lot of variety of food. Juices were not good quality though. Location is perfect. We reserved a parking space and it was very well organised.
