Hotel Description

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Rabie Aparthotel on Průhonská Street – it’s tucked away in this quiet residential area that feels miles from the tourist madness, even though you’re still technically in Prague. The building itself is pretty understated, which I actually appreciate after dealing with all those over-the-top boutique places that try too hard.

What really sold me on this place was how genuinely useful it is for anyone planning to stay more than a couple nights. The apartments – and they’re proper apartments, not just hotel rooms with a mini-fridge thrown in – come with actual kitchens where you can cook real meals. I mean, you know how expensive eating out gets in Prague, especially near the castle area. Here you can grab groceries from the Tesco about ten minutes away and actually save some money. The staff at check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no fake enthusiasm, just practical information about parking (which, thank god, they actually have) and how the keycard system works.

The location is honestly perfect if you want to experience Prague like someone who lives there rather than just another tourist stumbling around Wenceslas Square. You’re in Smíchov, which means you get this nice mix of actual Czech life – there’s a great little bakery just down the street where the woman behind the counter will patiently help you practice your terrible Czech pronunciation – plus easy access to the metro when you want to head into the center. The yellow line B station is close enough that you don’t need to budget extra time for long walks with luggage, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the constant noise and crowds. I stayed here during late spring and the neighborhood was genuinely peaceful in the evenings, which was such a relief after spending days walking around the packed historic areas.

The apartments themselves are clean and functional in that no-nonsense European way – good water pressure in the shower, reliable wifi, and windows that actually open properly for fresh air. The beds are comfortable enough, though nothing fancy, and there’s decent storage space if you’re the type who unpacks completely. What I really appreciated was how the place felt lived-in rather than sterile – the furniture isn’t trying to win design awards, but everything works and feels solid. The kitchen equipment is better than expected too; I was able to make proper coffee in the mornings instead of relying on those terrible hotel coffee makers.

Look, this isn’t the kind of place you choose for Instagram photos or bragging rights – it’s the kind of place you choose when you want a comfortable, honest base for exploring Prague without the tourist markup. The 8.8 rating makes sense because it delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. If you’re planning to actually spend time in the city rather than just pose in front of monuments, and especially if you’re staying for more than a few days, this is exactly the sort of practical choice that’ll make your trip better without breaking your budget.

Reviews

  • Superb – Nhandeci from Czech Republic – 23 July 2025 (9/10)

My family had stayed here a few times. It has a very convenient location and the staff is always welcoming and helpful. The rooms are very comfortable and clean.

What could be improved: There’s no lift for the higher floors. Although the hotel is being renovated, the entrance (outdoor) still needs to be done.

  • Good balance of price and quality. – Ruta from Lithuania – 21 July 2025 (10/10)

Nice, clean room. Helpful staff. The location is very good, a few minutes to the tram stop; several restaurants nearby. A possibility to reserve parking.

What could be improved: Everything was OK.

  • Very good – Weronika from Poland – 21 July 2025 (8/10)

    Comfy and nice location

What could be improved: Poor paid parking and outside of hotel is not nice looking

  • Exceptional – Cynthia3121 from Malta – 21 July 2025 (10/10)

The location, the bed was comfortable and the use of luggage room.

  • Exceptional – Alper from Turkey – 19 July 2025 (10/10)

    Everything was great.

  • Very good – Ján from Slovakia – 15 July 2025 (8/10)

Great location. Abosultely spitless clean room. Provided equipment – microwave, fridge, safe…

What could be improved: The windows. You can hear everything from outside. Also there was a much condensation on them and the air in the room was very damp.

  • Was nice – Soufian from France – 15 July 2025 (9/10)

    Everything was okey

What could be improved: Air condition missing

  • Hidden Prague gem – Josip from Germany – 29 June 2025 (10/10)

Hidden gem of Prague, where most Prague accommodations charge exorbitant amounts, this place is quite reasonable.
We also liked the private parking (albeit not free), but also not unreasonable. The location itself is also ideal for us, with tram and bus stops, supermarket and pharmacy literally only a few meters away.
Our room was very clean and spacious with a generous shower and fantastic air conditioning.
A small fridge (no freezer) and safe are added bonuses.
We are definitely coming back here.

What could be improved: If private parking is full you will have problems so be sure to check and reserve in advance.

  • Great location near transport and shops. Easy access to the centre and a great park up the road with a bar and snacks. – Lorraine from Australia – 19 June 2025 (9/10)

Refurbished room on the ground floor. The receptionist assigned us the room as we are an older couple and I limp so she observed this and gave us the room closest to the reception. This was very much appreciated. The refurbishment was delightful and once the exterior is completed the hotel should flourish.

What could be improved: The footpath outside the hotel is difficult if you have problems walking. The hotel was great.

  • Perfect stay – Fišerová from Czech Republic – 18 June 2025 (10/10)

Everything was clean a modern. Really nice staff, great facilities near such as Albert, Dm, Sasazu.. Everything was perfect!
